Yep the fours counterfeited. In holdem you are trying to make the best 5 card using one, both, or sometimes neither of your hole cards. 44 is playing 2 pair Kings and Sixes with a 7 Kicker which is a worse 5 card hand than Kings and Sixes with an Ace kicker.

Thanks All, and I did have the A. But my friend couldnt grasp the concept of the top five cards, called me a cheat took my $20 and walked out. A day later he still wont admit he lost.

Player poker with friends = - EV
EV=expected value

I don't play with anyone anymore who is my friend unless I don't mind losing the cash. It's just not a good idea. Lost a friend cuz of a few heads up matches.

His post was full of sarcasm. Dont take it at face value

This reminds me of a recent hand at 2NL 6 max where this carzy active aggrodonk was in a hand vs a fairly conservative player. I cant remember exactly how it played out but by the river the board had paired with two big pairs and aggrotard made a bet which the conservative player snap called with 10,10 for 10 high, the crazy fish showed 34 for 4 high. I'm still not sure weather it was a great read by the tight player or weather they were too much of a fish to realise they were counterfited

Just remember, you are trying to make the BEST 5 CARD hand. So the pair of 4s were good unitl the river when the second king hit. Making the board have two pair (4 cards) higher than his pair. So he is playing the board totally with two pair Ks and 6s with a 7 kicker. And his opponent makes the best hand essentially by having the A kicker...because he also is playing the same two pair.
