Why Do You Play Poker?

I have one question for all the the dudes and the dudettes out there today. Why do you guys actually play poker:-

A.For fun.

B.To socialize.

C.For the money.

D.I just dont freaking know why.

A and C. I want to improve, read as much literature as i can, be better than others, find awesome people with same interests, win money, get experience and get skilled, be the best.

I play for the money.
I could give you lots of reasons why I play but ultimatley it is for the money.
Poker has giving me the ability to travel around the country and meet alot of people I consider friends now,but ultimatly it is for the money.
I do not enjoy playing free poker,there has to be something at stake for me to be remotely interested in playing at all.

This game is very exciting and complex. There is no strategy to win, you have to adapt yourself to all kinds of gamestyles.

Also the motivation to improve.

I have an addictive personality, and when I enjoy something I want to be the most successful I can be at it. So if im going to play poker, Id better get good, otherwise my bank account is going to suffer!

Id love to get to the point where I can walk into a casino and most likely be the best player in the poker room, or at least have the confidence in my game to make me think that. And also to have a good chance at making $ when I want, whilst enjoying myself.

As I'm not really old enough to play online, I just play for fun. But I'm striving to be good enough by the time I'm 18 to crush souls, at that point it will be for money.

For now, I'm just running a club in my school for teaching poker theory LOL.

I've made money, but with my focus mainly on school, I'm unable to put in the significant value that is required to truly make the game 100% skill. I don't have one of those infinitely large sample sizes. But once I'm of age.... That will change.

So really it's A for now ... Soon to be C in like 3 years

Poker is a great game, with many combinations and variants of play, you have to read cards, peoples and the whole game. It's amazing for cards.
