Why do you play poker?

Personally, I'm playing poker for several reasons. 1. Poker develops logical thinking
A good poker player will always base his decisions on logic in the first place. To succeed in this game, you will need to constantly develop this skill and even if you do not make a conscious effort, it will inevitably happen over time. Of course, if you don't just mindlessly play “put together a combination”, but really try to think, analyze and learn.

2. Poker develops patience
In poker, a more patient player often wins, who is able to fold his hands over and over again in situations that are not suitable for him, and the ability to wait for his chance can be called one of the most important qualities of a poker player. 3. Discipline development
No strategy will be successful in poker if you do not have the proper level of discipline. Therefore, poker can be called a good training in terms of discipline development.

Undoubtedly, there are players who are talented by nature. But no strategy will be successful in poker if you do not have the proper level of discipline. The best example of this thesis is Isildur. In 2015, he showed excellent results, but, you must agree, this is not the first time for him.

Viktor Blom has already had amazing ups and downs - and the more painful they were. A professional in poker can only be called one whose results are stable. And this implies both the ability to manage money in upswings, and the skills of competent management during downswings.

It's just a hobby that i can make some money of it so i just play for my self and if i get profet of it why not.

Its a hobby and a good time pass for me. Also its nice learning new things

I find Poker to be exciting, exhilarating, and great fun, I do take the game seriously and most of the time I will endeavor to make the final table, but I don't particularly mind if I don't.
Some players will get upset at being busted out before the bubble, and I have heard of some players, smashing their computers or monitors when they lose, this just proves they are immature and childish, not being able to accept defeat. Even the best players get out-drawn, or go out having opponents suck-out on them, it happens to everybody.
My favorite phrase is from the French "C'est la vie" which basically means "That's Life, That's War, Get over it" S**t happens and if you let little things like losing at a game bother you then you really should try another game, and when all is said and done Poker is just another game, If you risk too much on one game you are inviting trouble.
It is a great Adrenalin buzz for me, to be all-in against another player and your tournament life is on the line, I can handle busting out holding Pocket Aces against Pocket sevens and losing to trips, it happen's and you have to accept it.
Keep playing the game, but learn from your mistakes, Play responsibly with money you can afford to lose, and keep the game Fun!

I play because it’s the only thing I think I can improve on and not have to work a regular job… regular jobs I just don’t like at all it never works out but poker always peaks my interest I feel I can never get tired of it just hopefully I end up one day making a lot of money from it

Purely a hobby for me, but also learning process i guess. And also, its fun entering tourneys and the time pass that comes with it. Not forgetting the wins!

I play for fun and if I take some money it’s an addition to the fun

I think it's because I like something that makes me think or rather, something not so easy to do.

Poker is an absolutely magnificent games that requires a wide skill set to become one of the top players in the world.

On top of strategy there is a huge number of situations where you have to make decisions counter intuitive to how the human brain works. Eg human's aren't really hard wired to keep throwing money into a pot when they think they are going to lose, but there are many situations where calling even with a low chance of winning is profitable and thus must be done based off of the odds villain presents you in the given spot.

It's amazing what happens when you mix money into a complex strategy game,

I just play for fun. Poker is not my main source of income

I enjoy playing poker simply because I love gambling, either face-to-face or online, but lately I've only been playing online.

I play poker because I love the challenge its a great game my goal is to get to a point in life to play fulltime

Only for fun. It's great to win some money, but rarely. Poker is exciting game of concentration and patience.

good luck.. if you dedicate yourself to studying and putting together a game strategy, you will be a winner, because the game shows that with time and with a study you can evolve

I play Poker for the Fun and Pleasure it brings me, mixing with people I have never met before when I play Live games, and meeting like minded players who play for the enjoyment they get from it.
Some people like Football, Rugby, Cricket or Golf, and will pay out hundred's of Pound's (Dollars) to follow their chosen team, around the Country or even the World, just to watch them play. I have never had that passion to follow anyone that far, I can watch all the Sport I want, if I paid for "Sky Sports" channel (which I refused).
I need to take part, in some way, in anything I become interested in, If it was Fishing, I would buy all the tackle, If it was Hunting, I would buy a Rifle, I am too old now to chase a ball around a field for 45 minute's each way and would soon become bored watching others do it.
Poker however is a Game I can play, and play reasonably well, and have fun being a part of the game.

I am a very gambling person, and I think that my gambling is somewhere on the verge of addiction. For the first time I started playing for the sake of making money, but later I just started to have fun. Now I try to play only certain tournaments from which I have the greatest profit or a chance to make a lot of money at one time.

For me, poker is a mapping of life. It ripples like the sea. A real adventure in every tournament. You set off and you still have plenty of companions at the beginning of the journey. Then as this road starts to get more and more bumpy and starts to rise, fewer and fewer are able to stay on this road. And in the end, it's just someone who gets to the top, just someone who got there at that moment.

This is poker. Fight and in the end the most persistent can only reach the top to rest there.

I know I'm sentimental, but now I may fall from the top ...

Investment

By playing poker I can learn (for better or for worse) how important it is to take care of my money, this will make me a more disciplined person with regard to my finances and may even end up being a gateway for me to learn to invest. better my money, because poker and the investment world...
