I think there's a few things that go into this.

The biggest one in my opinion would be that when we're watching we don't have anything directly at risk so we don't have an emotional attachment to the outcome of a hand or the financial win or loss that comes with it. Mental game is a huge part of poker and a weak mental game can cause players with strong fundamental understanding of the game make poor decisions.

Another thing that factors into the equation is the paradox of poker itself. Everyone thinks they are good, most people aren't.

Are you sure you're analyzing the spot correctly and that you have a better understanding of the spot than the person you are watching?
Have you accounted for any in game exploits they may be using that shifted their strategy from optimal?
Are you competitive at the stakes the streamer was playing and thus able to give him beneficial advice or do you just think you're better than him?

In poker it's usually both players who are much worse than you or much better than you who appear to be doing crazy stuff from where you're standing,

The fun part is trying to figure out whose there to give you their lunch money and who is there to take yours from you!!

I think it comes from the fact that being a spectator is not the same as being a player at the table. You get emotions from the game (positive or negative): you are happy that you successfully stole the blinds, but in the next hand your “AA” loses to “QQ”.

In my opinion it's because of emotion, having dollars in the game and it being really hard to be unbiased about ones own play. Specially in the moment.

Cheers!!!

Most people love to give advice. It's easy and enjoyable to give advice, because advice is just words, your recommendations on how best to act in certain situations. The advice you give to others, first of all, raises your self-esteem.
But the one who has to take the advice has to act, not just talk but act. Acting, doing something, is always more difficult than just talking, just giving advice :)

Based on raised topics, we can address few key point:

- if you trying to give advice, make sure you competent
- make sure you put your emotions away
- remember that actions must be done base on relevant facts.

P.S. and yes, in mentioned early example, i think i was hurrying in conclusions, and besides advices, dialog must be raised, to exachange reasonabled opinions on the subject.

I think this is because while watching a poker game on TV; Our money is not at stake and the pressure decreases. This would be my opinion because it happens to me too.

It's common to feel like you can analyze other people's poker games better than your own. This is called the observer effect. When you watch, you are not emotionally involved, so you can see the bigger picture and make objective decisions. When you play, you are caught in the moment and are more likely to make emotional decisions. To improve your self-analysis, record your hands, review them objectively, seek feedback, and be patient. It takes time and practice to improve.

That's also true statement, but i think they don't take advices from first met person.

That's why we need strategy to give advice and wisdom to take advices.

It’s because when you’re not involved it’s easier to see than if you are.

Almost everything requires the advice of another person, including poker. Even good players hire a poker coach to analyze their game, this is very useful, but not everyone has enough money for a personal trainer, but his participation is very useful.

i think we can develop 'not involving' thing, if start small and start train on "cats"...

For example solve math problems, eh bad example, but in first moment seems a good example...

I think that I already play as I suppose that is correct, so I have to learn something new or review a hand with some solver in order to recognize a mistake.

And about receiving advices, sometimes it requires to be humble enough to accept it. One thing is to ask for an advice, it makes it easy to accept it. Other thing is that someone correct us when we didn't even ask 😅

It’s often easier to give advice than take it because when advising others, we’re emotionally detached, allowing us to think more objectively and clearly. We see the situation from an outside perspective, without personal biases clouding our judgment. However, when it comes to our own lives, emotions like fear, pride, or doubt often interfere, making it harder to act rationally. Taking advice also requires vulnerability, as it means admitting we may need help, which can be uncomfortable. Humans are naturally inclined to see others’ issues more clearly than their own.

The main question would be how much data do you have in each instance---if watching are you seeing both hands? That is a lot of data and it makes it very easy for us to analyze--- While watching there is often times when we are making no decisions just waiting for the next hand to see so we can focus and relax.---
We can get better at self analysis even in game by learning a solid process and using it.:geek:

It is always easier to give advice than to follow it. In order to follow advice, you have to make an effort, try to do something, spend time, nerves, and possibly money. And you can give advice in 5 seconds, it's free in most cases and doesn't require much effort :)
