...But I feel that segregation of women in any part of society spurs this kind of assault, Like Setting Up Separate league Tables towards sexually segregated games feeds discrimination like is seen in that sexist news article...

I Wrote a post to the thread about the Women's League and how creating that separation would be damaging to Women across the Poker World but when I Included that it was just as unfair that transgender weren't catered for or gay poker players didn't have their own league lol

Those who feel its fair to separate/segregate Women in to a league of their own will only be agreeing with the sexist pig in the news article when he says...

For example my mom would have a difficult time doing poker math, sure she fits one of the stereotypes, but not my wife on the other hand. My sis cannot control her actions when she has strong emotions, sure she fits anonther stereotype, but again not so for my wife. By the way my Brother is no different from eitther of them and he is male, so he has both issues and again he is not female. The point is everybody is different, I can find females that have positive traits for poker around my small circle. I would be willing to bet that some females have a better sense of when someone is lying to them than many of us males. This could be useful in calling bluffs. Just saying.... human abilities are various, and this article does not take any of the variety into consideration and simply bluffs its ideas based on some misrepresented statistics. It's an op ed., therefore not a definitive argument for anything.

Well said. Pretty much everything I was going to say. One thing to add, Karen Uhlenbeck just won the Abel Prize yesterday, an international mathematics award. Makes the authors point about women being bad at math a little ironic doesn't it. Lol at these pathetic dinosaurs.

I know two very strong women players and I wished they'd quit sometimes because they were a terror to play against...

the banter at the table used to ge tto the younger one but if you sit to play you are a combatant ad there is no male or female there.....

You are correct about the website being some sort of machismo promotional site.

But the issue of female players succeeding in tournament poker remains.

I think I understand what you mean about linear results.

Still, if women were only 5% of the field...…..and year after year they won 10-29% of all tournament titles then wouldn't that suggest something about that 5% field is superior to the rest of the field (95% - men)?

I don't think emotions rule female tournament players more than male tournament players. You either have confidence in why and what you are doing - or you bet aimlessly and see a lot of flops lol.

IMO….in any live tournament the women are usually the competent ones.

And still - not a ton of female titles? Someone could check the data and confirm.

We have all kinds of persons in the world, sexist ones too. They all have their agendas and enjoy freedom of speech.

I know that there are some women out there setting their sites on a wsop bracelet. The sky is the limit. Personally, I enjoy female presence at the poker table. My wife plays and I think that she is very gook at the game.

eh pfft if I were a woman I would encourage the stereotype (though maybe that is thinking like a man IDK), my reasoning is this. The more people that think that way, the more of an edge you have at the table. Just take as many chips as you can, before the arrogance of people that think this way, wise up (assuming they are capable of doing so)!

I'm not sure any article on this misogynistic website is meant to be taken seriously. From my experience, some of my toughest opponents have been women. The point about women being poor at math is laughable. Look up Emmy Noether or watch the movie, "Hidden Figures."
