Won my First Tournament

I am really glad that I decided to play poker today. I woke up at 11 AM and entered a $2 tournament on Pokerstars with 3000 people playing in it. After a lot of hard work and seven long hours of play, I ended up winning 1st place and $1000. Now my bankroll is up to $1,100 and I just had nothing in my account two weeks ago. I have never played for real money before, so I think $1,100 is a great start!

I know the feeling of winning a large field multi table tournament, and it is glorious. Right now you are bankrolled to play 25NL (.10/25) comfortably, or 5-10 dollar sit n gos. Regardless of whether you feel you're going to spew the chips away or not, I'd withdraw up to half just in case you do (you won't feel too bad). Even if you don't, a thousand bucks is a decent roll to make some money with, given you don't fudge BR management.

Way to go! Continue playing one tournament at a time. The most common mistake is foe players to multi screen various tournys and end up either losing all or breaking under even. Besides, time is what you have. walk don't run into terrible habits, I speak from experience. I've just recently have been on a bit of a winning streak lately. My secret is restricting total buy in's to no more than five percent of my bankroll. Cash out twenty percent of your intial deposit, his way your walking away with some of your profit and little regret. Best of luck at the tables and your new part time career.

Nice win, WTG sir, I'm not sure of the minimum ($1000 I think) but if you post the results I think you would be eligible to go into the Major wins thread.
Maybe someone who knows for sure like a MOD, would be able to correct me if I am wrong.

congrats man. But i have to say, i am jealous when i hear you say that because i am trying to build a legit bankroll and i got tenth in one dollar tourney only making me a couple of bucks. i should have finished much higher and im still mad at myself for not playong better, considering the position i was in

it was a 1$ buyin at titan (rebuy,adon) ,it was a great feeling .There were about 600 players and ive won 190 $ only but i t was a victory
