I also think worst mistake is to overbet every good hand like pairs preflop. I see so many people all in on 7pair and they wonder when they loose on a flopped Ace pair. I mean it's a flip to play like that. Always play calm. Ofc on low stake an all in can be a good chance with a pair

In my opinion I think you think that your opponent is better than your opponent before he eliminated you in poker, variance and everything

I think the worst mistake is to succumb to emotions and try to recoup more limits.

The worst mistake is an all-in trash hand against an NIT opponent. Although sometimes you can win, in a long run it's a very crucial mistake.

Worst mistake? Playing online cash games, treating them like a tournament. Moving up in stakes as soon as I can afford a single buy-in for it, running like a god, mistaking it for skill instead of variance favoring my plays (i.e. luck). Running it up, winning a lot of money and reinforcing my misguided belief that I'm skilled enough to keep the wins coming, being up many times the amount of money I deposited, only to blow it all in a series of hands where variance was not on my side, while playing at a level well beyond my actual ability. My worst mistakes have a lot more to deal with bankroll management than bad calls and misplays.

Losing all your money and not being able to afford to play would be the worst to me. Although for some people it'd be better if they couldn't play, so this would be a good thing if they were bad enough. :D

Other than that, just repeating the same mistakes day in and day out expecting different results would be near the top.

Clicking the wrong button is pretty bad... even accidentally registering the wrong tournament happens.

I hope none of these ever apply to you, but they have all applied to me at one time or another.

For me the worst mistake is losing patience during a poker game, because you are going to start making bad plays

For me this is also the worst mistake, but also to think that the opponent is bluffing.

worst mistake in poker

I myself believe that the worst mistake a poker player can do is to play too many hands. something that amateur players do, believe it or not, there are almost 15 % of the hand playable and sometimes out of frustration players tend to play most of the game and after a bad game session they are talking about their bad luck which is not true at all

the worst enemy of the poker player is his EGO he makes you make many mistakes and make emotional decisions without analyzing the game of his opponents, believing himself to be a better player and underestimating the game of his opponent.

The other worst mistake of the poker player is playing off his bench and not having self control of the game and his bankroll this causes you to lose your money very often, most of us make this mistake a lot.

Being up 100k during a live game that was being streamed then you get drunk and proceed to lose it all.

Absolutely for me the worst mistake a poker player can make is folding the best hand. Sometimes great poker players do that.

Hello.
The inability to control one's emotions is what I consider to be the biggest mistake of any player.

Calling to chop and shoving short stacks under the gun are both pretty bad. The former has a negative EV and the latter leaves you open to multiple calls, mitigating your odds of winning the pot outright.

poker player mistake

as I mentioned before there are many mistakes that a poker player can do: playing too many hours, playing in blinds that don't match your bankroll, playing after having a fight or bad day, playing after having lack of sleep, playing hungry, playing early in the morning as soon as you wake up, playing while drinking or you had too much alcohol, playing somewhere that you do not belong to that stake and table and the last but not least playing on tilt
