So true. I loved listening to Antonio Esfandiari and Olivier Busquet. Olivier is surprising very well composed and easily tells information to the average poker player, and Antonio is one of my favorite players.

Hellmuth was just bad.

Amen, amen. I was screaming at the TV "Will you just shut up, Phil?!"
Antonio is my #1 fave so far--I think he definitely has a future in this field if he should so chose. He's a natural.

Gotta say this live coverage has got me hooked. I dont follow the wsop much except for the 50k HORSE and the ME and this new way of showing the game is amazing. Way better then the highlight reel that is the edited coverage. I even took work off today to watch them play down to the final 9. Love how they dont show hole cards unless it goes to a flop and if it does they only show at the end of the hand.

...and livb(Olivier Busquet), i mean c'mon. The guy is killing it. Hes making Hellmuth sound like a complete idiot.(not that hard I know)

Down to 14 players with Pateychuk giving a ton of chips to Heinz before busting.

Play was stopped until 8 EST where ESPN will cover it.

And... probably Hellmuth will be in the booth because he is the most well known player.

There is then a dinner break at 10 EST and then resumes on ESPN2 at 12am until the November 9 is finalized.

I would assume Esfandiari or Busquet would be in the booth on the ESPN2 coverage.

The ESPN3 commentators are poor. Phil Helmuth has done a very good job being a commentator,

Anyone else noticed how many non Americans there are still left in ME?
14 players left, and the USA is still not guaranteed a spot in the Nov9.

Hellmuth and Chan commentary was hilarious. Chan was like Annie Duke's a pretty good player - you know womanwise.

You know who I am (surprisingly) enjoying listening too?

Norman Chad. He's actually making some good poker comments.

I had to be up all night last night for another reason and had the poker tournament on.

I have to tell you, I could never play in any of those types of tournaments. People sitting there taking 5 minutes to decide would push me over the edge. Let alone 10 minutes like Giamatti did that one time.

Even 3 minutes is too long.

I mean your brain is a faster computer than the ones you use for internet. Surely there's no reason you can't go through every single move that player did in the hand (and probably every prior hand he's ever played) in 2 minutes at the most.

I'm glad the old guy made it, as well as the English guy and Giamatti.

I recorded the thing (ESPN2) and of course it showed what happened during the scheduled time, going off when Phil joined Norm and Lon. How much longer did it go? I see that ESPN2 is secheduled to broadcast Pt II again tonight--anyone know it's a repeat or contination?

It's a repeat -- they reached the November 9.

It went about an hour after you got cut off.

Thanks Steve--argh--I kinda thought so when I wrote that post. Note the typos. So, is there anywhere else to catch that action? Damn. I knew I should have stayed up, but I really couldn't keep my eyes open after about 2:30am.

If not, will someone please post the short version? Or provide a really good link? TIA :)

It is available on ESPN3.com. Unfortunately it is 5+ hours long with no fast forward.

It starts with 12 remaining.

Well... I disagree. We don't know the 'metagame' goin' on as 'spectators'.
I actually enjoyed that one hand where the guy took a full 10mins. before making the call. I watched with interest for the entire 10mins., along with listening to commentary, I actually found it quite interesting. But this is the part of poker I like.

I am so thrilled! Instead of a repeat, the ESPN2 broadcast tonight covered an hour and a half of this morning's midnight-4:30am broadcast, and then the rest of the action that I missed. Very satisfying, to be able to see the while thing to completion. WP, ESPN2 :)

Loved the coverage, Antonio Esfandiari and Olivier Busquet were brilliant, was able to learn and enthuse at the same time.

Phil Collins is my selection to win it.He plays brilliantly online at Stars and appears to go just as well live.

If only ESPN covers the WSOPE as well.

Next year they should devote Final Table time to omaha and stud as well, the audience would be huge.

All we need is FT back with our money and it will have been a good poker year.:D
