I started to play very young. Namely, my father taught me the rules when I was 7 years old. Since then, I love to play poker.

I got to know poker through movies and the Internet. Then on the Internet, I studied the rules of poker, read the forums and watched the video online, and then practiced on play money.

I was a pool hustler and my pool shooting buddies begged me to play for 3 months straight to play at this one guys house who was supposedly the big kahunna. One night I was at the bar with my cousin and he got invited to a poker game. I had never played poker before in my life, but I wasn't going to watch all night long either. I dropped $100 in the first hour. I came out $550 ahead at the end of the night and took the big kahunna down at the same time. I was the big winner by far. What I didn't tell you is that I am super at understanding odds and that I had played just about every other card game under the sun.

I'm sorry I didn't understand.

My parents played in dealers choice home games with friends so naturally my friends and I did the same.

WPT and Party Poker changed all that. Bought a bunch of books and found I could beat the lower levels.

I played a lot of card games and chess with my grandfather when I was really little. Mostly chess and 5-card draw.

It wasn't until 2006 when my roommate at the time talked me into playing in tournaments and taught me how to play Hold 'Em.
At first, I didn't care to play, but I played with him for a few months, then entered into my first tournament in January 2007, which was a free bar tourney with 30 or so people and I ended up winning the tourney and $20. Been hooked ever since.

Started with rummy

Me and 3 other firends used to play rummy every weekend, and any other day we could find time, until one of them started playing poker at a local club, then another one fell, and another. I wasn't about to be the "dumbest" right :)... so i caught the bug too, a few weeks later. That was almost 16 years ago. Can't say i've been active all the time, since we gotta work, live, pay the bills and that kind of irrelevant stuff :), but a few years later i got online, and i've been playing mostly there... whenever i get the time. I wouldn't mind making a living out of it, but i'm still far from being that good. Still trying though :rolleyes::rolleyes:

I was just another kid in college looking for a better way to make money than the 9 to 5 job. I left college to try to make it big in gambling. I read a lot of books by Sklansky and I think he encouraged me a lot to try to do well in this profession.

One of my closest friends

I started to play poker thanks to one of my closest friends he told me about it and at the beginning I didn't listen to him cause I didn't like too much and I was doing other stuff and not really interesting on this game but then I started to play with play money and I really liked after all so I started to get more and more evolved and now I just love this game I'm gonna improve my game and earn money cause I literally in love with this game and most of all I wanna be better and better

I just liked this game, I found and learned the rules of poker and now I play cash games or tournaments and if the card plays well for me in the game, then I win, but there are different situations in the game of win and loss, but I like poker!

poker story

I came to poker to compete and win. All card games were without a clear target and win. That is why I chose poker as the purest version of card games, where only you and your opponents are. And so I started playing tournaments, and as I gained experience in them, it came to the realization that, no matter what, I would lose almost half of the games in a thousand. This situation did not quite suit me, because every defeat hurt me badly. As a result, I began to improve my game more, and then all the boundaries changed for the better, and I began to suffer less. This helped me to think more about the game, and less about how they move me and win.:jd4::jd4::jd4::jd4:

Once on TV they showed a TV show with a game of poker organized by Pokerstar in the framework of an action promotion. After that, I became interested in poker. The first year I played only for play money. 7 years have passed since then.

Hello.
I play poker for 3 years. I started playing poker at work, because I usually had a lot of free time. I was not the best employee. But at that time, this game completely captured me and now it is my favorite hobby.
Good luck.

My dad taught me to play when I was about 8 or 9. Whilst in high school a friend of mine brother had a Friday night home game. I would go religiously every Friday and lose the money I earned from my part time job. Still think I was being cheated.:)

I did the same. Then I went to a local casino with $200 playing live for the first time, tipped the dealer $30 two hours later, & still cashed out $994 :D:D:eek::cool::D :kc4:

I started poker five years ago. It was quite spontaneous and accidentally, it first started with friends and then it became quite serious and I started actively playing online in real money and for now I'm doing well. I love playing poker, it fills me up and I want to become a professional one day. I've been playing it actively for 4 years and all in total about 5 years. Poker is a wonderful thing and it connects people so I would recommend everyone to play it. Great greeting for all players!
