10 Poker Traps That Can Catch Opponents Off Guard ♠️

1. Slow-play a monster hand against an aggressive player.
2. Check-raise when you have a strong hand and expect them to bet.
3. Occasionally limp with a premium hand against very aggressive tables.
4. Make a small flop bet to encourage a loose opponent to raise.
5. Check a strong hand on the turn when you think they will bluff the river.
6. Use a delayed c-bet when the flop doesn't connect with your range.
7. Call a raise with a strong drawing hand and let an aggressive player keep betting.
8. Trap short-stack players who are desperate to double up.
9. Occasionally show weakness with a strong hand, but don't overuse it.

Which one do you use most often?

There are several ones But I am pointing out a few

• The delayed c-bet – Check the flop as the preflop raiser (looking like you missed), then bet the turn once a scare card or blank comes. People don't expect aggression after a check.
• Betting small for value to induce a raise – Against a player who loves to raise weak hands, a smallish value bet can bait them into raising you, and you just call or re-raise.
• The check-check-shove – Check flop and turn with a strong hand, then fire a big river bet or shove after they think you're done with the pot.
• Reverse tells – Acting weak (sighing, slow to act, hesitant bet) when you're actually strong, especially against players who've picked up on your normal tells and try to use them against you.
• The check-raise with the nuts – Classic for a reason. Flop hits you hard, you check like you missed, opponent bets their air or medium hand, you raise big. Works best against aggressive players who bet when checked to.
• Slow-playing a monster preflop – Flop a set or flop two pair with a hand like pocket 7s or suited connectors, and just call instead of raising. Let someone else build the pot for you.
• The float – Call a continuation bet with nothing, planning to take it away on a later street when they check (showing weakness) or when a scare card hits.
• Overbet with a weak hand to look strong – Once you've shown down a big overbet with the nuts, doing it again later with a bluff gets paid off by players remembering the first time.
• The min-raise trap – A tiny raise looks weak or like a value squeeze, so people call more often than they should, not realizing you've actually got it.
• Limping a monster in early position – Especially in loose games. Limp with aces or kings, let someone raise behind you, then re-raise big. Disguises the hand completely. More importantly patience and observation are key to success I reckon
