You can't really unless you deep enough to fold to a reraise/jam.

Two pair vs a set (I think you mean a set i.e. a pair+matching card on the board not trips i.e. pair on the board with matching card in hand?), this is pretty much a cooler.
Sets are very hidden obviously, the betting is your only clue - but even then you are guessing/relying on reads.

I agree with the tilt-inducing monkey on this one. Fold is gold these spots, but it's incredibly difficult to pull off. You can find the fold with top pair, but two pair usually gets there, which is why folding is difficult.

Trips is 3 of a kind using only one hold card like having :as4::8s4: on :kc4::8c4::4h4::8d4:. If you hold :kd4::qd4: on that board, you should not mindlessly pile in chips, as its kind of obvious, that your opponent could have an 8. Not saying, they always have it, but if you bet the flop and got called, now its usually a good time to check back for pot control and then make a decision on the river.
I sense however, that maybe you are talking 3 of a kind using both hold cards like having :4s4::4c4: on :kc4::8c4::4h4:. This is called a set, and if you have the same :kd4::qd4: on that board, you are kind of doomed to lose a big pot, because there are just not that many hands, you lose to, especially if your opponent just called preflop and would normally 3-bet :as4::kh4: or :as4::ah4:. Maybe you dont have to lose all your chips, if you are deep like a 100BB cash game or early in an MTT. But you are going to lose a decent sized pot at least. Sets have good implied odds, meaning they can often win big pots, when we make them.

Which is why, we sometimes call ourselfes to setmine. And the other side of that coin is obviously, that our opponent also have good implied odds, when they hit a set, and we have a strong top pair, and overpair or even two pair. Its one of those situations in poker, that suck, but you just cant do anything to avoid it.
If you have :qh4::10h4: on :ah4::10d4::5h4::7h4:, but your opponent has :kh4::9h4:, you are usually doomed to lose all your chips, and we refer to such situations as coolers. Coolers are annoying but dont matter in the long run, because sooner or later the shoe will always on the other foot. You will have the nut flush, when someone else has the second nut flush. You will have a set, when someone else have a strong top pair and so on and so forth.
