Why does the solver prefer to make a 4-bet with K5s instead of giving up against a 3-bet?
I recently discovered that K5s appears as a 4-bet when studying GTO. What blockers make this hand interesting?

Mostly the king. It takes his KK from 6 combos to 3 and his AK from 16 to 12. Those are a big part of what keeps playing against a 4-bet. K5s is usually too weak to call the 3-bet, so for me it's fold or bluff.

If you are playing against better GTO style players that know how to fold then having bluffs in your 4 betting game makes sense with hands like K5s and A5s. It’s got the blocker thing working for you and you can get better Kx to fold, like KJ maybe KQ also AT and AJ and maybe AQ will fold to a 4 bet against the right opponent. But if you are playing against someone who never 3 bets light and they never fold, don’t use these K5 bluff hands, just 4 bet strong hands. Otherwise, when they call you will just be playing a big pot with a likely dominated hand.
Remember just because it’s on a chart doesn’t mean you can do it in your game, this is a solver playing another solver. So it’s always going to depend on your opponent and how they play.

When studying solvers we find the why of the action by looking at what the villain 3 bet bluffs and then folds to our 4 bet. If the V does not have enough of the 3 bet bluffs, then the K5s is only effective if the V over folds. So we would look at the GTO chart to see what the V might fold that GTO calls.
