In my opinion, bankroll management is one of the most important skills in poker. Even good players can lose money if they play at stakes that are too high for their bankroll. Having discipline helps reduce risk and allows long-term growth.

Bankroll management is not just mathematical, but psychological. Playing in fear because you are almost out of bankroll leads to worse decisions, more frequent tilt, and a reduced ability to take advantage of edges.

Yes, it's very good to manage our funds and how much we can risk, so we choose a lower stake for our stack, ok. But you need nerves of steel and immortal patience 🤪😇 I'm not here and I always get to test my patience on the maximum stakes my stack allows, I'm not saying I don't win after I get to read their game and the best part is that I put everything against a weak guy who keeps raising the river with two pairs, I give color to Ace, guess what? Just a full 😀 And I start from scratch... and I got there many times and always when I expected less.

Bankroll management is of great importance. Players who do not adhere to bankroll management are doomed to losses. If you have your own bankroll management system, this is already a step towards a successful game.

Completely agree. A lot of players focus on strategy but ignore bankroll management. Even the best players go through downswings, and without proper bankroll discipline it's easy to go broke before the results turn around.

Absolutely. Poker is a game of small edges over a massive sample size. Without proper bankroll management, variance will eventually catch up to anyone, no matter how good they are.

Bankroll management is important for long term succes in poker, but it does not in itself protect anyone from losing. If we dont have enough edge to beat the rake in a certain game, our long term result will almost always be a loss, no matter how large our bankroll is. Its common to view any losses as being the result of variance. But if it reach a point, where maybe the statistical chance, we are actually a winning player, is down to 10%, then its time to accept we are probably not. And then we can either find a different game or study and try to improve.

Even strong players can go broke if they take shots too big for their bankroll, because variance in poker is real no matter how good you are. Proper bankroll management doesn’t just protect you from downswings, it also keeps you mentally stable so you can make better decisions without pressure.
