Best poker books you have ever read?

Hello all,

I am new to this forum and want to share with you some books on poker that I feel have helped me become a better player. If you want to let me know what other books I should read please let me know

Book list:
The Theory of a poker - David Sklansky “the book I would probably start with when it comes to general strategy”
Super System- Doyle Brunson “not super system 2”
Harrington on hold em’ vol 1&2 - Dan Harrington “definitely upped my tournament game”
Essential poker Math - Alton Hardin “this would be the second poker I would read after theory of poker if I where starting out Again”
Winning poker tournaments one hand at a time- Jon “apestyles” van fleet. “Definitely good for hand analysis and various torney spots”

If you like 6-max cash then two books by Peter Clarke "Grinder's Manual" and "100 hands" are good choices.

I just started to read first one - The Theory of a poker by David Sklansky. When I just started to play poker - I think that my math education is good enough to understand some basic thing of probabilty theory in the context of poker, but after 30% I understand that I try to calculate wrong things in wrong manner))
Thank you for good list of books, now I know what I can get next)

I think now more relevant videos from professional players in 2020 in poker, Streams, analysis of their games .. and the rest. The game changes constantly ..

That’s true also. But for basics I think a $20 book will beat out a $200-$300 video series. Although I did buy RIO From the ground up MTT series when it was on sale for $100.

I have read quite a few, and have quite a few more to go through, but I would say that my favorite top 2, that is, used as practical application as an intermediate player are ---->

1. Master Micro Stakes by Alton Hardin

If you don't even focus on the microstakes, the wealth of knowledge and amazing info in this book is phenomenal..this book is pure amazement. You can get it on kindle at an amazing price.

2. The Theory of Poker - David Sklanskly

As for the best poker book I have ever read to learn the game it is the Little Green Book by Phil Gordon

I have a lot of books still to go through, but those are simply amazing.

Harrington on hold em’ vol 1&2 are 2 that I have read and am in the middle of re-reading. Plenty of good tips in there although some people think the pay is a bit tight and the some things maybe now a little outdated compared to modern play.

I read some poker theory books a long time ago. However my fave poker-related read was Devil Fish by Dave Ulliot - the life and times of a poker legend. Anyone else read it? Some great stories in there. Any similar books out there worth reading? Let me know as I really enjoyed this one. Cheers.
