I think something like play in the morning, review hands/study, and then play a higher volume evening session.

Thinks hard for most to study after playing if its late or they are tired.

I think the best time to play is a personal choice. You need to have the time for a longer session or a tournament. You need to be very rested and have eaten well. Otherwise you will get very annoyed with the bad beats, play bad and loose more money. The best time to study- depends, ideally you need to know the theory before playing poker, but the learning process continues at the poker table. Sometimes I feel a learn more from the way other people play their hands because I'm more objective when I'm not in the hand.

For me, the best time to play and the best time to study are usually not the same. When I’m playing, I want to be mentally fresh and able to focus for long stretches, which is often in the evening when I have fewer distractions. When I’m studying, I prefer doing it earlier in the day when my mind is clear and I’m less tempted to jump into games. I’ve found that trying to study right after a long poker session isn’t very productive because I’m mentally drained. Separating the two helps me get more out of both.

If you know very little about poker, I’d recommend watching plenty of videos on how to play so you can understand the game itself and have a foundation when you start playing.

As for the best time, it really depends on you. Try to dedicate some time to both playing and studying, but only you know how to manage your schedule effectively. The most important thing is finding a balance that you can stick to consistently.

Play and study times may vary from player to player, since not all people are created exact equally.
It can also depend on your life circumstances when you better play or you take a break and make studies.

"Absolutely. Studying after playing can be very valuable because the hands and situations are still fresh in your mind. Reviewing mistakes, analyzing key decisions, and understanding why things happened often helps the lessons stick better. I like to play first, then spend some time studying and reviewing afterward." ♠️📚

Yes, I think studying and then playing is one of the best ways to improve at poker.
When you study first, the concepts are fresh in your mind and easier to apply at the tables.

Even 15–30 minutes of reviewing hands, ranges, or strategy before a session can help.

Just be careful not to overload yourself with too much theory right before playing.

The ideal approach is a balance of study → play → review → repeat. That's where the biggest long-term improvement comes from.

Best time to play depends on your routine and schedule. I'd say morning, and review your hands in the afternoon

I don't get too caught up in theories and calculations and all that. What I do is take screenshots of the hands I lose or the interesting ones from the session, 5-6, and then when I have time I analyze them and think about what I did wrong or if I did the right thing according to my playing style.

I like to dedicate a day to study, maybe 1 or 2 hours, reviewing hands and ranges, and take another day to play.
I sometimes take 10-15 minutes to study ranges before starting a session.
