Which is better AT or KQ?

Would you like to know the best hand to play?

Although one has more strength preflop.

The other one plays better post flop.

Which do you prefer?

Which one is really the best?

KQ is better until there is an ace on the flop, and it happens a lot.

I would rather have KQ unless the AT is suited. Sometimes I don't even play AT in early position. It just loses too often to bigger Aces. I always play KQ. Really only have to worry about being up against AK or AQ. With AT you also have to worry about AJ.

Of course A-10 is better (equity: A10 - 58% ,KQ - 42)

odds are better with AT pre-flop. I'll prefer the best hand to start with. From there it is just speculative. I'm not one to put a lot into a starting or favorite hand.

Multi-way or heads up is also a factor. I'd take AT heads up, KQ against 2 or more.

I will always play QK over A10,because i have bad experiences with A10 hand,got some bad beats on that hand .. And QK is offer more chances than A10

I don't really like either of them, because even if they improve after the flop it's hard to know if you have the best hand or not. KQ gives you 4 more outs to make a straight, but A10 has more starting heads-up value, but really I don't mind if someone in front of me makes a big raise so I don't have to play these hands.

Always AT. Consider a stud or draw game where you can draw cards...riffle through the odds as you're trying to make the best hand.
You will be ahead with high card alone relative to KQ.

For me, AT still has priority . Of course it all depends on the situation at the table .

I agree A10 is what i would rather be holding as well. kq is good but poker is about math and the math tells us A10 is a superior holding.

A10 wins over KQ. I do not understand why someone would prefer a hand that will eventually lose more.

I mean, why even bother dropping the queen.

well in numbers against each other A10 has 58.35 percent against 41.65 from KQ. But I play both

KQ hands down, first they are monster cards, they are connected and opened end so more options. A T needs to double up or has to hit KQ to have a chance at a straight.

Hi! Good question, I agree, think it depends on what stage of the game, playing with these cards. If this is preflop all in, then AT has more equity, while if you play this hand postflop, you can see a stronger Ace. If we are talking about KQ then this is a strong enough hand for postflop.
