Calling feels safe—but it’s often a mistake.
Too many calls without a clear plan can slowly drain your stack. Strong players either fold or raise with purpose.
If you call, you should know why—not just hope to win.
Do you think you call too often?

In all the years I've played, yes I find myself calling too often in some games, it's usually out of boredom and lack of patience. I have to pinch myself out of it on occasion. If it can't play well post flop and it didn't warrant a 3 bet, just fold already😭

Calling out of position in a raised pot is a sucker’s bet. Hope is not a strategy in poker.

Yes, honestly I think calling too often is one of my biggest leaks. Sometimes I call because folding feels too weak or because I’m curious to see the next card, even when I know deep down the math or situation doesn’t justify it. Over time I’ve realized those “small” calls quietly drain the stack.
I’m trying to become more disciplined by asking myself why I’m calling before I click. If I don’t have a clear reason — like pot odds, a read, or a plan for later streets — then folding is usually the better decision.
