Do you think experience matters more than study?

I wouldn’t put study and experience in a “which one matters more” battle.
Studying is another way to gain experience. Real play teaches other things than pure study.
Study gives mostly the why things work.
Both forms will have impact on the players skill level in different ways.
Without experience you can´t apply what you learned in your studies.
