The whole poker is based on playing for money, not for points and gift cards. The best way to increase your knowledge and improve your game is playing for cash, but I agree that sometimes it is good to play for fun with friends or in a pub, there is nothing bad or harmful for your game in it.

today it wasnt so good as a dude brought his gf who doesnt know how to play well and started going in frequently at one point due to having to go to work soon. naturally it paid off for her and I got donked

No I explained earlier that I decided to play it to add a variety of live experience with different types of players. As I also play home games and at the casino, was just simply asking if thought it was a good idea for my poker game or not.

I feel free poker to be a good learning tool as it trains me to be a little more careful. I think to be a good MTT player you should be able to deal with all types of players from ultra tight to old fashioned bingo players.

in short stacked turbo events you SHOULD be going all-in pre very often. It sounds like this is a good place for you to practice your short stack tourney play.

It may help in getting used to playing with real live people and some nuances of the game. I no not think it helps otherwise due to the "no risk" of losing $$$$.

I think it's good.Personally, I play in such tournaments are not for profit, but to cheer up.Too many illogical and ridiculous situations in that tourneys and it's very fun

One good thing about it. It gives you the opportunity to try playing different ways to see how it works out for you. Due to the fact you have nothing to lose it makes it feel risk free in that sense. So in a way its a great opportunity to add more to your game.
