For me, AK is the hand with which the main thing is not to overestimate myself. Preflop tries to play aggressively: raise, raise is often 3-bet against raise, against 3-bet, the decision already depends on position, stacks and opponent.
After the flop, everything depends a lot on the board. If I get into A or K, I often continue my aggression, but I control the size of the bank depending on the situation. If I didn't make it, I don't think I should bet just because I have AK. I look at the flop texture, the position and the actions of independence.
In general, I like AK more for the opportunity to put pressure on my opponent than just hoping to get in. 😄♠️

AK is a premium hand that you usually want to play aggressively preflop raise, 3‑bet, sometimes even 4‑bet. But postflop it takes discipline, because you’re going to miss the board about two‑thirds of the time. When you hit an ace or king, you can keep the pressure on and go for value. On dry boards or scary textures, though, it’s better to mix it up with smaller c‑bets or even check back to control the pot.

It depends on position, stack depth, and the action before you. I usually raise AK preflop and 3 bet it against an open, but I avoid playing it automatically for stacks without considering the ranges involved.

After the flop, I continue aggressively on A or K high boards. If I miss, I look at the board texture and my opponent’s range before deciding whether to c bet or take a more cautious line. AK is a strong drawing hand, but it is still ace high until it connects.
