Bad beats and downswings in poker are so frustrating. I understand that variance is there for everyone, but occasionally I lose control when my strong hands keep losing. As a result, I started playing too loose, which actually wrecks my bankroll even faster. I need to be very careful with my anger.

What should you do when you experience a bad run of cards? Do you take a 10-minute break or even stop playing for a day? Please share how you deal with it in the comments.

I try to walk away for 10-15 minutes if I start feeling tilted. If I still feel the same after that I quit for the day. It's best to quit if you are angry as you will only make more mistakes trying to recoup your losses. I always prefer to let the bankroll be safe and come back the next day then to make stupid plays and tilt myself more.
The most important thing is to realize you can only control your actions and not the cards.

I agree, protecting the bankroll is more important than trying to win everything back while tilted. I usually need a short break to reset my head too. Do you find 10–15 minutes is normally enough for you?
