How Often Do You Review Your Hands?

I used to just play session after session without really looking back. Win or lose, I’d move on to the next game.
But once I started reviewing my hands—even just a few key spots—I realized how many small mistakes I was repeating.
Now I try to pick a couple of hands after each session and really think them through. Not just what happened, but what I could have done differently.
It’s not the most exciting part of poker, but it might be the most important.
Do you guys review your sessions regularly, or mostly learn while playing?

I don't analyze every session in detail, but I try to observe some important hands.
These are usually the ones that made me uncomfortable or where I lost a large pot. It's those hands that stay on my head, so I try to understand if it was a mistake or just a matter of luck.
I think reviewing everything would be ideal, but even taking a look at some important points already helps a lot.

I usually take screenshots of 4-5 hands a day that I lose, and at the end of the day I study them to see what mistakes I made, so as not to repeat them.

I know there are plenty tools out there for analyzing hands and measuring probabilities , and it's really an encouraged practice for self improvement , but I never do it.... It feels like I am back to school

I just try to remember the mistakes made and never repeat them. But fo me it's always better to focus on the good things done at the table and try to duplicate that . And of course not studying bad hands it's a missed oportunity !

We should base every action in a hand on a simple algorithm. We determine our opponent's range and decide how best to play our hand against them.Taking into account the dynamics at the table, the type of opponent, my image, determine with what range the opponent can play against me.

I only review the parts where I had trouble through the hand. Anything that was abc I didn't have to. Even if I lost.

I don’t review hands that often either, but I do like the PartyPoker Whiz report. It’s quick, shows you where you’re leaking without digging through every spot, and gives you something actionable right away.

For me it’s more about pattern recognition than breaking down every hand. If I see the same mistake popping up, then I’ll actually go back and review a few hands around that spot. Otherwise I’d just burn out trying to analyze everything.

You're right, this needs to be done. Personally, I try to analyze those hands that led to a fatal error.

Ideally you should be reviewing a handful of key hands at the end of each session.

I try to focus on hands where:
I felt I had no idea what the correct action was.
My opponent made an unusual play
Big bust out hands

This order is important as well. I don't want to spend an hour reviewing loads of hands at the end of the session. I want to spend 15-20 minutes of quality study on spots that I found uncomfortable or confusing.

A deeper dive should be saved for a designated study session, preferably once a week.

Daily. I honestly don’t think a serious player should start a new session carrying unanswered doubts from the previous one.

A lot of improvement in poker comes from cleaning up small recurring mistakes that are invisible during the grind. The players who review consistently usually improve much faster than the ones who only focus on volume.

Very often, I keep hand replayer active during each session and I'm reviewing hands played by my opponnents vs each other and vs me, trying to figure out their logic..

Wow this is actually great, I've also started recording my screen whenever I'm playing, and I later look back and reflect on my decision
