We all love big bluffs and hero calls, but honestly, one of the hardest and most underrated skills in poker is knowing when to fold.
Letting go of a decent hand after investing chips feels terrible—but it often saves your stack in the long run. I’ve noticed that many of my biggest losses came from not wanting to fold when deep down I knew I was beat.
Good players don’t just win big pots—they avoid losing unnecessary ones.
What’s the toughest fold you’ve ever made, and did it turn out to be the right decision?

I understand your statements and I completely agree with you, because I myself have found myself in similar situations))

Folding being underrated ties directly into something a lot of players don’t even realize they’re doing, the sunk cost fallacy. It' a mental trap where you keep committing to a decision just because you’ve already invested something into it, even when continuing no longer makes sense.

Facts, and it's one of the most underrated because we always feel like we lost when we fold but in reality, sometimes you just saved your stack

You’re not wrong but I’d tighten that idea a bit so it actually wins money, not just feels disciplined.
Folding is powerful, but over-folding is just as expensive as calling too much.
The edge isn’t fold more, it’s fold correctly.

I agree with you, nowadays it is increasingly difficult to see people folding when necessary, perhaps because poker has become more aggressive. A good fold can win you a tournament.

I once watched a poker show, and I remember a moment when a player folded KK on the turn, even though there was no ace on the board — but a straight was already possible. I would never fold a pocket pair like that on such a board.:p

Yeah, being able to fold requires mental discipline and is important, but having the courage to catch bluffs and get the chips in when you're uncertain (but probably ahead) is just as important

I agree with that, especially with the idea that it's not about folding more, but about folding correctly.
In my case, I used to have a really hard time letting go of my hands, like the top pair. I held on for a long time, even when everything indicated that I was at a disadvantage.
Lately, I think I've been improving a bit in that regard. I am starting to accept these situations and to give up sooner when it becomes clear that the situation is not in my favor.

Some of the easiest players to win against are the ones that can’t fold. We can get so much value against these players so don’t be one of those type of players.
