I play Omaha 08 a lot and am constantly losin to a bigger FH, straight, flush etc... I even lost to higher quads. It is always the player next to me, right and left. Often 3 players with the nut low A2. I know in omaha you will see more hands turn into fh's, straights, flushes but multiple players hitting with one higher?

Im afraid to bet, there are some situations you know you cant be beat and you win or share with same cards but not often enough. How do I adjust to this? It is so frustrating!🤪

I dont think I ever had it happen playing live but I play online far more often so it is hard for me to gage. Anyone have an opinion on this or why I see it so much. I appreciate the input.🙃🤑

That’s normal—it’s just game variance. You might go through a spell where you’re only losing, but there’s also positive variance where you’ll win. To reduce variance, you need to put in more volume, and I’d advise playing on more than one site.

... yeah it's totally normal, omaha is generally a game of the nuts, if you don't have it someone else generally does,

also very easy to get quartered with nothing but a lo going for your hand,

look to be in position to scoop or quarter not just split😎👍

Omaha Hi-Lo can definitely feel brutal compared to Hold'em. Since everyone starts with four hole cards, it's much more common for multiple players to make very strong hands by the river. What looks like a monster in Hold'em is often just a decent hand in O8.

I'd focus more on starting hand selection and drawing to the nuts rather than second-best hands. If you're regularly getting beaten by bigger full houses or higher flushes, it's worth reviewing whether you're overvaluing non-nut hands. The variance is also much higher, so some stretches can feel unreal. Hang in there,it's part of the game, but tightening up in marginal spots can make a big difference.

We can do nothing about variance, and it may be only that. However, some of what you stated suggests you may be making range mistakes in multiway pots. It would be a very good idea for you to post hands and get feedback.

As well if you are playing micro online you will see far more players chasing to the river in more hands and that of course increases variance over what you would see live
