Poker can get boring sometimes—folding hand after hand, waiting for good spots. That’s usually when mistakes start creeping in.
You get tired of waiting, start forcing action, playing marginal hands… and suddenly you’re in trouble.
I’ve realized that patience isn’t just a virtue in poker—it’s a real edge. A lot of players lose money simply because they don’t want to wait.
The more disciplined you are, the more those good spots actually pay off.
Do you ever catch yourself forcing action out of boredom? How do you deal with it?

Yeah I agree, a lot of bad players want to jump right in and start seeing flops. They didn’t drive all that way or fly all that way to the card room to sit there and fold. They want action, they don’t want to wait. So we have to be more disciplined, be more patient, and be more aware of what they are doing.
When we see them limp, we need to be the pre flop aggressor, raise those limps, 3 bet their weak opens, stay in position as much as possible.

In poker, patience is the true edge. While many players chase every hand, the strongest ones wait for the right spots, make disciplined decisions, and let time work in their favor. In the long run, patience turns small advantages into consistent profits.

Patience is one of the greatest weapons in poker. The players who stay calm, fold weak hands, and wait for the best opportunities usually outperform those who act impulsively. In poker, true success belongs to those who know when to wait.
