Played with AA incorrectly and paid the price!

Watch this hand and see a common mistake to play with AA.

FIRST the player gave mini raise to try to attract players to the game instead of betting. But his raise should have been between 3 and 5x to scare away speculative hands. With this he attracted a player with a marginal hand and it was bad!

i dont thinck that if u have AA Utg and the blinds are...for exemple 500-1000 u have to make a 5k bet just to scare them arround...in 90% of the time u will win with AA,u just need to play it like every other hand,biggest mistake is to limp with aces.depends a lot of the players from the tables...the tournament...the stacks...best way to play AA in my opinion is to open if no one did or 3bet if any1 already opened. 3x-5x is too big raise usually. Depending on table and game (cash vs. MTT) it should be 2.5x-3x.

To scare away speculative hands? What will remain?
You dont want just to steal the blinds. With reasonable raise you can get to flop with better hand, just dont let the worse hand to see the flop too cheap or for free (by limping). At best someone will 3-bet you of course.

On the flop you just need to play poker, dont need to loose whole stack just with overpair.

i guess it will always depend on how the situation goes....
limping will be the worst play. On preflop, i would open big at least 3bb if no one bets ahead of me and if someone does, then i'll raise bigger. This will hopefully scare all bingo players with bad hands.
I would be happy to get 2 callers but more than that will make me think twice. The more callers, the more chances of your rockets getting shot down... lol.

You hit very cheap and nice flop. I prefer call if its cheap. Awesome mate ! Mistake your opponent was a 3 bet if he will be play 5bet or more you and other opponent gonna fold. Btw this guy with AA must be angry xd

Wow does the guy with AA even know the game. What a pot with an undeniable fish. I wish I had people sitting at my table like that. What a way to really rake in a pot. That's not playing incorrectly but playing like @#$#$$

While the player misplayed AA pre-flop, on a board like that you need to really slow down. Its not just 96 that has you crushed, but J9 which is a very real possibility. On the river AA really should know your beat. Sometimes you need to slow down and really look at the board. He can't beat 96, J9, two random hearts, or any kind of 2 pair in a min raise pot. At worst, its a fold on the river.

Unfortunately attempts to gain more sometimes have the opposite effect . All the same, with AA you need to raise preflop . Of course a lot depends on the table of the tournament and opponents . :listen:

For sure, when player from UTG+2 see the action before him (player from UTG+1 limp`s) - he must to raise then. But no minimal raise - think, in the range 3.5bb..5bb will be good one.
In that case - the author of post (with his pocket `garbage` hand - mean 96ofs) at least think twice or more for calling that bet.
Of course, after adding only 1bb and hitting the `flop of my dream` (flopped Straight) - he only sit & wait when other 2 players in that pot give him their chips. Typical case for cheap entering into the pot.

LOL, you're kidding, right?
I didn't need the above example, I have cracked and had seen aces cracked more times when someone decides to min-raise sometimes even limping from UTG instead of coming in with a strong raise.

Along with taking the small pots with AA, you will run into players like the ones in the following hand on BOOM! which will increase you're winrate with AA.

AA are difficult to play at times, you don't want to scare anyone away but you also don't want a bunch of players limping in. A good pot raise when the blinds are big should scare away the limpets, but not always. I back off if i missed the flop and someone raises. If the raise is not too big, I will call and see if my hand improves. This strategy works for me about 0% of the time LOL

Is a complicated hand to play ... The error that he made is very common but has to do with the position he occupied at the table, many people make a small raise with the hope that someone will raise again. In my opinion not only with AA... With any monster hand we must always be aggressive.... This will help us to take a better reading of a hand if someone gets to increase or match.

Yes. Here the player with AA has not a mistake.
After all, the probability of winning with AA is only 85%! Just - it was such a rare coincidence, when immediately was formed Street.

Always Strong raise from early position for me , so if they know the hand and don't get in to see the flop , don't care , if I lose that way , the loss doesn't hurt too much . I had always been losing when slowplaying ,others had success , don't know for sure , don't want to try it

I seem to always go all in preflop with kk or aa preflop. Depending on how many players are in the hand prior to my action sometimes all in with qq also. Jj and below i tend to always play out unless its me and blinds than ill raise em.

Anyone disagree with my actions? Or any constructive criticism? Thank you
