Every poker style has its own strengths and weaknesses.
I don't really agree. There is only balance and imbalance. If you are playing imbalanced then the negatives outweigh the positives, unless you are playing tight and aggressive imbalance to exploit the other imbalances.
"Well, I'm just loose and passive. It's just my style." No, you're a calling station and you're a weak and imbalanced player.
"Well, I'm just tight and never bluff. It's just my style." No, you're a nit and you're a weak and imbalanced player.
Even the Tag player is weak and imbalanced when playing against pro level competition, as much as he may beat up calling stations and nits.
You tell someone in a hand review, "You're limping and calling too often and too wide. Just because you hit the river doesn't mean that you're playing well," and they say, "Stop criticizing me. It's just my style!" So you tell them. "Okay, stick to your bad style and keep playing badly. Just don't b**ch because your
bankroll isn't going up."
