🃏 Situation 1 — Dry Flop: AA is still very strong

Pre-flop:
You: A♠ A♥
You open, two players call.

Flop: K♣ 7♦ 2♠
You’re out of position.

Suggested line: Bet 40–50% of the pot.

Here, there are few hands that already beat AA. You can charge against:

Kx
lower pairs
7x
draws/backdoor draws

If a player just calls, continue evaluating as usual on the turn.

Turn: 3♣
→ You can bet for value again.

🃏 Situation 2 — Flop with a draw: AA is still strong, but be careful

You: A♠ A♣
Flop: J♥ 9♥ 4♠
3 players in the hand.

There are many draws here:

Q-T
T-8
K-Q
Heart flush draw
Jx

Line: Betting approximately 40–60% of the pot can be a good play.
If you get a call, continue.
But imagine:
You bet → Player A calls → Player B makes a big raise.
In this scenario, AA warrants much more caution. In multiway pots, the frequency of strong hands increases.

Yeah, that big raise from Player B would definitely make me slow down. Multiway pots can change things pretty quickly.

I like what Doyle used to say about aces "they are great for winning a small hand or losing a big one".

That's a really good sentence.

The downside is that at micro limits, they always pay out a lot. That’s why I often see people with AA go all-in right away—because if they hit their hand, the villain will lose anyway—but few actually do it.

🃏 Situation 3 — Extremely Dangerous Flop
You: A♦ A♣
Flop: J♠ T♠ 9♥
3 players.
This is one of the worst types of flops to simply “fall in love” with AA.
There are already:
- two possible pairs;
- sets;
- many straights;
- several flush draws;
- combinations of pairs and draws.
Possible line: check.
If:
Player A: bets 50%
Player B: calls
You can simply check-fold, depending on the ranges and bet sizes.
This seems absurd because you have AA, but the goal isn’t to figure out if AA is “pretty”; it’s to make money in the long run.
