I've heard someone say you need to learn pot control? I have an idea around it. ie, limit raising on semi low value hands, to prevent re raises etc so you can see a flop. anyone else have any good advice on the topic?

Good advice. Don't play with junk. Not every bank should be yours. The main thing is not who controls the bank. The main thing is who controls themselves.

A lot of low stakes players love to check-raise. It's the easiest thing in the world to leave them alone till you have a stronger hand.

yeah , but I guess the topic is really about controlling the pot size. so being less agressive and maybe not raising or re raising, to prevent re raises or all in's from others.. but the balance is really preventing it from being too cheap, having everyone in the game, vs making it expensive and needing to fold with less than premium hands..

Pot control mostly reffers to after the flop decsions.

Pre flop is much simpler, you decide to raise or call etc.

The reason to pot control after the flop is when you have a medium strength holding, say Top pair weak/average kicker.....if its checked to you as the pre flop raiser, you may decide to check back on the flop of turn, to see a free card, see what develops before getting in more chips and gettig committed to something average but which also stands a decent chance of winning at showdown
