I found this lesson really useful because it shows that planning a hand is not only about deciding what to do on the current street. We should also think ahead about how many bets we are comfortable putting into the pot before making a decision.
Pot control seems especially important when we have a decent but vulnerable hand. Sometimes betting or raising can build a pot that becomes difficult to manage on later streets.
I also liked the idea of planning the hand before the pot gets too big. It seems much easier to make a good decision when we already have an idea of which situations we want to continue with and which situations should make us slow down.
My question is: how do you balance pot control with value betting? For example, if we have a strong but not unbeatable hand, when should we keep the pot small and when should we continue betting for value?
