You might be sitting with 10-15BB and suddenly realize that calling or raising for a small amount will put you in a tough spot on the flop.

This is when pre-flop shoving can make things much easier, since you gain fold equity and don't have to make difficult post-flop decisions with a short stack.

If you have 12BB in late position with a decent hand, would you shove or make a small raise?

When I only have 12BB left, I prefer to go all in - instead of making a small raise...coz like I really won't have a choice as well at this time in the game

Like - If you make a small raise, other players will call you because it is cheap for them. Then you have to play the rest of the game with very few chips, which is very hard to do when your cards do not hit the board.

Going all-in is much better for two simple reasons. First, you might force everyone else to fold, and you win the chips in the middle without any risk. Second, even if someone calls you, you get to see all five cards immediately without making tough choices later...

yeah with 12BB i can see why, small raises can leave you in a really awkward spot after the flop
