One thing I’ve been working on is separating results from decisions. It’s easy to feel like you played a hand badly just because you lost, or like you played it perfectly just because you won.
But in reality, poker is all about making the best decision with the information you have at the moment—not the outcome.
I’ve started reviewing hands by asking: “Was my decision +EV?” instead of “Did I win?” and it’s completely changed how I see my game.
How do you guys review your sessions? Do you focus more on outcomes or the quality of your decisions?
