Everyone folds to the Small Blind and it's up to you and the Big Blind to decide who takes the pot. Seems like a great opportunity to steal but then again you are out of position for the whole hand

Would you raise with a hand like K8s or Q9o and apply pressure to the BB or Limp and see what happens?

I would raise both, but likely different stack sizes depending on how deep or shallow the stack is. For K8s, I think it's a very comfortable raise for me. I would say Q9o could also be situational raises. The limp can also work out depending on how aggressive the BB is and to induce errors by them.
The key is to remember that we are out of position, therefore I would not automatically raise every hand just because it is headsup. 😂🃏

that makes sense, K8s feels like an easy raise there. I’d probably be more careful with Q9o depending on the BB.

Would raise with K8s, no question about it. With Q9o depends on my thoughts about BB's style of playing.

I’m with you on K8s. Q9o is where the BB’s style makes a big difference, especially when you’re out of position.

I wouldn't automatically try to steal the blind just because everyone else folded. K8s can be a reasonable hand to open with depending on the stacks and the opponent, but Q9o makes me much less comfortable. I prefer playing hands that still have good strength when I'm called, especially because I'll be out of position for the rest of the hand. If the BB is very passive, I might open a little wider, but against someone who calls a lot, I'd rather wait for a better hand.

I can see that. If the BB is calling a lot, Q9o gets awkward pretty fast, so waiting for a stronger spot makes sense.

Of course I'm raising with those kinds of hands. I mean depending on the style of the button you can get away with 80/90% hands.....

You have to consider that the average hand is Q7o, so anything above that is currently beating the BB range, but also there are plenty of other playable hands worse than Q7 that can call plus bluffs too. For example lets say we are short handed and I didn't raise the last time, depending on stack depths etc, I may well be raising 100% the next hand.

Entirely depends on opponents huds stats
for sure, HUD stats can make that decision a lot easier, especially when you know how often the BB folds.

80/90% is pretty wide 😂 but I get the idea. If the BB is folding enough, there’s definitely room to put pressure on them.

I NEVER limp that unless I have AA or KK against a short short stack, and even then I will open more often than limp-trap.

When it folds to me on SB I am either opening or folding, usually opening (unless my stack is shortish), and since I open this at high frequency, sometimes I have to fold just for image, depending on how dumb/smart I think that the BB is.

I like that approach. If you’re opening most hands anyway, mixing in random limps could make your range harder to read.

It is, and I'm not doing that everytime, but I'm certianly doing it when the reward is big enough, the BB stack is under pressure and its the first time it folds to me vs that player.

A rule of thumb for ranges is we flat mid strength hands and raise stronger and weaker hands. If we are splitting ranges.
Why? Our mid strength hands can dominate their flats post flop. When we raise we win the blinds or build big pots OOP. If we raise Q9o BB calls QT so we get reverse implied odds situations.

This is a very complex spot and requires lots of study to understand ranges determined by Villain play.

🤔🤓

I would do that yes.
It’s not always that the BB has the better hand.
He even can fold, that’s better.
I always play the best hand I get, I can win or lose. But yeah that’s poker.
Also I have a lot to learn when it comes to Bounty Hunters and the hands and everything.
Not every tournament is the same, not every hand is the same.

Definitely go all in when you have K- high like above 7/8.
Q’s might be a bit weaker but you never know.
