Day 24 completed. The mental game is crucial in poker. Controlling emotions and staying calm are essential to avoid tilt, which can turn a winner into a loser. Learning to play consistently and analytically instead of emotionally is key to long-term success. Thanks for this lesson!

If I am in the middle of a multi-table tournament that I cannot abandon, and I feel the onset of tilt, what is the best way to play tighter and verbalize the thought process if I am stressed and with reduced mental processing capacity?

I would 1st of all recognise that. As you have done so, I would then limit myself to playing only premium hands, and in position. I know you will not lose a lot, and at the same time, you may get the opportunity to double-up, perhaps. I know that if you are late in the tournament, it is not optimal to play that tight, but if it helps you not to lose all your stack, then it is good. Of course, the normal thing to do would be to go and make a drink, a coffee and grab a ready-made snack, but without doing what I advise would just let you return in the same mind set.
