Are you playing live poker? Online its pretty easy, since a quick look at the cashier on the poker site will let you know, how much you are up or down. If you want to know your results for specific games, you can use either a tracker like PT4 or an online service like sharkscope to give you that information. The latter is only for tournaments though.

I use the cashier... I spend way too much time in the cashier. Not all rooms have a clear cashier, and my assumptions are quite simple and constant, and definitely below the capabilities of my bankroll. I always try to make a monthly summary and only use the calculator... I only play live where I win a profitable satellite, and it's still not worth traveling everywhere.

I use an Excel spreadsheet... I think that's enough.

It depends on what you are using the data for.
If you are just doing simple bankroll management, you can just use the sites cashier.
If you want to see how you are doing by stake use sharkscope(if they cover the site).
Or if you want a comprehensive view use HEM3 or Pokertracker to look at results by stake, time, players etc.

I like using a simple spreadsheet or notes app more than anything fancy. It helps me track deposits, withdrawals, buy-ins, cashouts, and overall profit without overcomplicating things. The key isn’t the app itself it’s being consistent and honest with every session you record.
