Alright, let’s be honest…

Most players think they’re better than they actually are. But if you had to pick ONE mistake that almost everyone is still making—even at decent stakes—what would it be?

Some common ones I see:

  • Calling too wide preflop “just to see a flop”
  • Overvaluing top pair
  • Playing emotionally after a bad beat
  • Bluffing in the wrong spots
  • Not adjusting to opponents
For me, it’s not folding when you KNOW you’re beat.

For me, the biggest mistake is not letting go of my hands at the right time.
I used to overestimate hands as the tallest pair and to be honest I still do that sometimes. Even when everything indicates that I'm at a disadvantage, it's hard to give up after investing chips.
I think a lot of players know that they've probably already lost, but they keep playing just because they don't want to give up the pot.
