One leak I still have is not maximizing value after the flop. Sometimes I’ll play the hand well preflop, hit a strong spot, then size too small or get too passive on later streets because I start worrying about losing the pot instead of thinking about how to extract the most chips. Feels like I leave a lot of value behind that way.

I think my biggest mistake is to assume that all of my opponents have advanced poker skills. By this I mean that while they can make mistakes from the perspective of an experienced player, that doesn't mean they can be beaten. Sometimes, these players don't retire even when they have a very low chance of winning, and that's why bluffing at them is never a good idea.

My biggest mistake is wanting to win a lot and play in bigger tournaments and then I lose all my money.

I only limp when my hand needs betting to create an advantage, but I always think about the worst-case scenario.

For me it’s definitely playing longer than I should.
Sometimes the session is already over mentally, but I keep going because “the game is good” or trying to recover a few buy-ins. Most mistakes come after focus starts dropping, not before.

Good morning everyone. I started playing in 2018, and what I notice the most is that I often play outside the bankroll loss limits that my bankroll can handle. For example, playing $10 Spin Golds without having a $100 or even a $1,000 bankroll. The correct approach is to have around 100 times the buy-in you are playing. For example, if you have $100, you should only play $1 tournaments at most. When you reach $200, you can move up to $2 tournaments, and so on.
But instead, with a $38 bankroll, I end up playing $10 Spin Golds. I’ve already lost 13 Spin Golds at the $8 level. It doesn’t make any sense at all.
I know I have the ability to grow my bankroll; I’m just waiting for my computer to come back from repair. I’ve been playing on my phone and I’ve been a bit impatient. I end up making bad decisions, like playing $10 Spin Golds. It doesn’t make any sense — it’s a serious mistake and I need to fix it urgently.

One mistake I still fight sometimes is playing too many marginal hands out of boredom.

Especially during long sessions or card-dead stretches, it’s tempting to force action.
Those small unnecessary spots can slowly drain chips over time.
Patience is easy to understand in theory, but harder to maintain consistently.

Poker constantly tests discipline, even for experienced players.

No matter how much we study, I think every player has that one mistake that keeps coming back.
For me, it’s sometimes getting too curious in big pots and making calls I already know are probably losing calls.
Other times it might be playing too many hands when bored, bluffing the wrong opponent, or not quitting when focus drops.
Poker is weird because even when you know the right play, it’s not always easy to make it in the moment.
What’s the one leak or mistake you still struggle with the most in your game?
Mine is that sometimes I put too much faith in pocket pairs, if I get 4 bet with Jacks the money is probably going all in lmao

Sometimes I play when I'm not feeling well. I've been having some health problems lately, and on days when I'm not feeling well it's better for me not to play. But unfortunately I don't always behave in a disciplined way.

Limp betting - however i use this to trap or induce a raise - especially if there are certain players at my table that i know are super aggressive.

One of the most common repeated mistakes in poker is calling too much out of curiosity. A lot of players know they’re probably beaten, but still pay off bets just to “see it.” Over time, those unnecessary calls quietly destroy bankrolls.

I'm getting back into playing poker, so I'm making a lot of mistakes right now. The biggest one is related to my range. I think I need to pay more attention to it.
