if I have a good hand, I try to play it neatly, but not really slowly, the main thing is to make the apprentice pay 🙂

Slow play could sometime earn you the most chips.

Being aggressive is fine and betting every nice hand is fine in my opinion. That being said, at some table everybody will fold on a regular bet if they don't have a little something.

Let them try to bluff you when you have the nut. Give them the time to get a little something something.

What I learned from Article:

GOOD REASONS TO SLOW-PLAY
A STRONG MADE HAND

  • - The flop is dry in absolute terms
  • - The flop is dry in relative terms (it doesn't connect well with our opponent's range)
  • - Stacks are relatively short
  • - Our opponent is aggressive post-flop
  • - We have position
  • - We are heads-up to the flop
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

GOOD REASONS TO PLAY
A STRONG MADE HAND FAST

  • - The flop is wet in absolute terms
  • - The flop is wet in relative terms (it connects strongly with our opponent's range)
  • - Stacks are relatively deep and hard to get all in across 1-2 streets
  • - Our opponent is cautious or weak-tight or passive post-flop
  • - We are out of position
  • - We are multiway to the flop
My tip: Only slowplay the nuts when in doubt of hand strength😛
Also, Slowplaying is great for Maximizing expected value (++EV) at small stakes!!

I usually slow play when there are less draws and things on the board, but sometimes I think that puts me in some tough spots. It also probably makes me pretty predictable.

Slow Play

slower game just do bubble-ITM and in major tournaments in the final straight as every move is very tense and can be decisive to crimp or losing a tournament of this magnitude of field

I see advantages in slow play in other stages of the tournament unless it will very aggressive and all that hinders in the game there also use slow play as a tool to survive

It is not easy to play slow when you have good cards instead of being aggressive, because you can change the strength of your hand through the following streets,
but if we know how to apply it then we will win a big pot

Nice article,I don't slow play that much ,But After Reding these post i m gona try it soon!!😎

Slow playing in poker is another one of the many tools you will want to have in your arsenal to be a successful poker player. A good player knows when to slow play, and when not to. As with most things in poker, there is never a cut and dry scenario for any given situation. That is why it is important to recognize some different factors that will help you to decide on the best move, and whether or not you should slow play.

Many new players make the mistake of slow playing too often, or not enough, or in the wrong spots or positions. So we developed this article to help you recognize when you should and should not slow play based on:
  • position
  • board texture
  • reads on opponents
Read through our article here: Slow Playing vs. Fast Playing

Then come back and let us know:
  • What did you learn that stuck out to you the most?
  • Do you have any other tips to share on slow-playing?

i think slowplaying in one of the tools to be a great player , but i u don t know how to use it , it can makes you lose all your chips , specially if the vilain hit what he s searching for , after reading this article i have corrected many things in my playing style , thank you CC

Good article!
I dont slowplay preflop because i try to defend my strong hand, but i do it at Flop and/or the other street, only when Im sure that I have the better hand and wouldnt be danger in the following streets.
This decision also depend to which kind of player we are playing to make this strategy work.

Slowplaying or fastplaying are very hard moves at the poker table and it is hard to do it for a beginner player.I read the article and I had only few moment totally new to me about ranges during decision about slowplaying.
I usually use slowplaying when I get a good river card for my combo and I play against aggressive player so I better check then bet to let an opp to bluff or bet for bank.Thats what I use.

I learned that I cannot see any example hand, even after following link to "continuation bet" 😕

I deduced that the example Flop must have been Ten high with at least one spade.

Slow play is the right play when you know where you're at. If you have the correct read on your opponent's hand and tendencies, and slow play is indicated, go for it.

Great info in the article, I will apply this strategy in the future and I will see the results.

My experience shows there is main argument to use slow play - opponent's game style. If he is "shark" you should give him what he expects - call. Your raise is not he wants from you. It's so cool hand when you have nuts and opponent is giving money to you simply 🙂
Yes, position, flop, stack are imporant factors, but most important factor is agression of opponents.

like you said slow playing is an important thing in poker ; but it don t work everytime ; it can get you out of the game and regret a lot dor slow playing that hand . i guess Slow playing must be used in it time depending on many other factors .

I slow play TPGK Or TPTK on a dry board or quads or FH's...anything else I bet because they either got something or do not. Unless they are signifgcantly aggro then I go for the turn check raise.

A slow tournaments game is great, if you find a player who pays everything, it's easiest to take his chips, I prefer turbo tournaments, there really needs to be careful when it slows down, many in these tournaments play quickly and do not pay attention to the players, so it's easier You can play if you slow down the game, the opponents in those cases become nervous and it's easier to beat them.

In the poker, you need to make the right decisions, and for this reason you need to play it thoughtfully, sometimes you need to spend a lot of time. But it will bring more benefits
