One mistake I used to make a lot was focusing only on my own cards and not enough on my opponents.
Same hands, same bets, same lines—no matter who I was playing against.
But poker really changed for me when I started adjusting. Against tight players, I steal more. Against loose players, I value bet more and bluff less.
It sounds basic, but actually paying attention and adapting in real time is a huge edge.
Do you actively adjust to different player types, or do you mostly stick to one style?

for me every hand is different. who am i up against, what are their tendencies , what is their range, do they bluff often, or do they sit back and wait for the premium hands.... it pays to pay attention

One is growth. The other is delay disguised as strategy.

I'm always adapting, there are different ways to play depending on the opponent, which is why notes are important.

Winners make adjustments. Losers make excuses. Alex Fitzgerald said this and it’s something I’ve always remembered when playing poker.
