gambling is illegal in Thailand, so at any point rooms might be raided by the police. Personally I would rather go to places like Manila or Macau, where live poker is legal. That seems a whole lot more safe to me

With due regards to your consent,
1. Poker is NOT GAMBLING.
2. The countries you have mentioned the laws there also doesnt allow poker rooms outside the licensed casinos but the there are 107 poker rooms are operated there.
3. I can just talk about thailand, yes the laws as per constitution are not clear but WELCOME TO ASIA there are some specific trends that needs to be followed and all goes smooth. Raids do happen but only to those who are not under the wings of ANGELS but now poker is happening alot here.

Yes like everywhere else. Its also not legal to play in a home game in the US, and playing in a licensed casino is obviously way safer than playing in any illegal home game.

Yes the law in Thailand is very clear. The only thing unclear is why, so many foreigners think, its ok to not follow the law in a country, they visit, and that this will not have any consequences. I would also not recommend anyone to engage in other illegal activities in Thailand like drug use/trading or underage prostitution. People from western countries generally expect, that visitors follow the law, but for some strange reason many expats in Asia dont feel, the same apply to them.

Yes you can probably bribe the police, and this might work for a while, until suddenly it does not

Well except the response on point 1 all is correct. But lets "agree to disagree" sir.
Titan poker community is openly listed on google places with address & phone numbers. Poker is a Game of Skill with a slight involvement of luck & variance. We exist here 8 years without any troubles, because there are certain protocols to follow then all is good. We dont bribe police its a crime. So far so good. Please google ATIM or wsop list of poker players from thailand, if poker is considered as gambling these rising stars would be apprehended by authorities for being gambling promoters in the country. Problem is we become PROFESSORS without having prophecies, as i said CERTAIN PROTOCOLS to follow then all is safe NOT CONSTITUTIONAL but legal.

I'm not sure about gambling regulations in Thailand for 2024...but, 20 years ago when I was living there, there was pvt gambling rooms all over Bangkok...

Same scenario, the only thing that is changed now its become organised. Phuket now have 3 clubs. Pattaya 6 clubs. Bangkok 4 clubs. But bangkok almost 99% foreigners they playing piker in titan poker thailand clubs as its the most organised network here locally.

That does not exactly mean, it was legal. I just find it important, that anyone reading this advertisement fully understand, that they are engaging in an illegal activity, which could get them into trouble with authorities in a foreign country

Thats true. Play at your own responsibility. But less to worry as it never happened unless its a 30th of february

Playing poker for money is not only illegal in thailand but also illegal in
Middle east
Vietnam
Cambodia (casino exceptional)
Even UK & USA (unless you are registered to relevant authorities)
But its happening all over the world. Thailand govt already approved the draft for legalising casino bill & its awaiting for final steps.
Poker, if you are playing any where in the world underground its all risky. In thailand we have been running our 5 branches for the past 8 years without any issues. We are publicly listed on google, fb, ig and all our address & phone numbers publicly available. As long as you are playing in our places all is good but ya avoid some home games there sure.

The main thing here is that the law has not yet come into force. I personally would not risk having problems with the law in Thailand.
