Buck,
I'm sorry you had such a hard time getting through(this may be a good thing though). If the lines were jammed maybe that means many many people were calling in.

On another note, if you didn't get through yesterday. You can always call any Mon-Fri to your Reps. local office or long distance to his Washington DC. office, infact I think can you even email your Rep. if you wanted to.

Here is a link to Congress.org.
http://www.congress.org/congressorg/home/

On the left hand side of the home page click "State Officials", it will take you to another page to where you need to put your zip code in. This will show who your Reps are etc....

Just type in your zip and it will tell you who your Reps are.

Just remember that you'll need to contact your State Senator at this point, as it has already passed through the House of Represenatives.

I got through with no problems, then registered for the tournament that I forgot about :(. I'm hoping to maybe play in another one today, but Wednesdays are insane for me. :p

I wanted to update this thread and bump it................

Even though you can't use the number in the OPost, you can google your senators local phone numbers and email addresses. If you weren't able to get through on September 12th, it isn't too late.

Here is the link to the Senate Website: http://www.senate.gov/

I missed the 60 minutes show last night and from what I have heard this morning it wasn't a good thing for online poker. Maybe I am seeing this all wrong and looking through rose colored glasses, I think we can make a difference here.

Apathy Kills, don't just sit on your butt and do nothing.

I actually like this part..

Sen. Jon Kyl says that’s the biggest danger in online gambling. “Our kids have access to the Internet. They’re frequently not supervised. And you can run up a huge debt on your folks’ credit card very, very quickly.”

And they can't any other place on the net? The can only run huge debt on the folks credit cards just playing online hold-em poker, not doing anything else what so ever. (insert the sarcasm).. if a teenager has free will and access to the internet, your credit card.

He/she has access to do, buy, on whatever the want.

This is a great point. No offense to anyone, but if your kids have unrestricted access to the internet and open access to your credit card, then you are an idiot.

But that doesn't mean punish the ones playing by the rules like all of us.

uhhh my parents gave me theirs one time (was about 16 or so) to buy some clothes with. They forgot about it and I had it for around a month or so. :p  ran up $100. in gas, cigarettes and snacks at the convenience stores with it. OMG did I get it when the bill came in :( That was when things were cheap.

Do you think I would give Chris one today?  Not a chance!

Swift retribution in the form of a beating...oh, wait...the powers that be would define that as abuse....Seriously though, life would soon become a living hell for quite some time for the little "darlings"...and you can bet they would be paying it back in some way. Believe me, I could find plenty of useless, meaningless tasks for them. They would rue the day!
