Hi everyone. Yesterday I played at WPT where met bot against me. His bets and speed were as time. did you know about bots in tournament?

I’ve heard that there used to be a lot of bots on WPT. Now they seem to be trying to deal with that. I’m not sure how successful they’ve been.

You can feel when plays real men, and also you can feel bot's alhorytmes

I think you need at least a certain samplesize against this player and there are also real people who use the same amount of time on every street and dont give away betting tells.

I haven't been playing on WPT for very long, and so far I haven't suspected any bots, but I can't say there aren't any.

I heard there are bots, but I haven't personally noticed any.

It's very difficult to prove, but people are occasionally caught using bots. Even at the top poker rooms, let alone at those not in the top 5, bots are definitely present.

How do you know they're trying to combat this? I personally haven't come across this information anywhere.

I recently read something about this elsewhere on Reddit about WPTG not doing very well with bot detection.

WPTG has their security team that investigates suspicious activity, but ultimately bots just get more sophisticated. It's just a never ending cycle.

Perfeito!

Good morning, everyone. I just answered a question about bots on poker sites, and I think this topic is really interesting. I've been playing poker since 2018, and I never looked into bots or studied anything about them, because I play micro stakes, right? I don’t think bots operate much in micro stakes. But anyway, I don’t know, I have nothing proven.

I started reading about it and I learned some things about the security systems of the major sites. The strongest site in bot detection is PokerStars — they have the best security team in the world. Then comes GGPoker, then PartyPoker, and there’s also 888Poker and Winamax, which are very good at detecting bots.

A bot on poker sites doesn’t last even 48 hours, because the sites detect the bot’s session behavior. If a bot spends many hours making perfect decisions, they pick up the timing tells, some sites even detect mouse movement, and they analyze the speed of bets. Bots usually bet at the exact same time, unlike a human. A bot can play 12 hours straight without any drop in performance. It always plays very close to GTO. A human cannot play 12 hours without losing performance or making mistakes. A bot plays 12 hours without making mistakes.

These bots don’t last more than 48 hours. They create an account and within 48 hours, at most, the account gets banned. So the number of bots on poker sites is very, very small compared to the number of players. People don’t need to worry about bots. What people should be worried about are poker teams that build databases of players, because that the sites cannot detect.

About WPT Global — which is extremely strong in detecting any type of fraud — once I tried to open WPT Global in a LAN house, and you can’t even open it because the LAN house system has control over the computer screen, and the site detects that program and blocks it. So WPT Global is very strong. I don’t believe there are bots on WPT Global. Maybe there are a few, but they are usually caught quickly.

So people can relax: bots are not going to harm anyone. The sites are extremely strong at detecting bots and banning acco.

Interesting spot. In official live tournaments like WPT, bots aren’t allowed — everything is dealt and played live with real people. Online events are where bots can sometimes show up, but live poker is human-only. What you probably saw was just a player with super consistent timing and bet sizing, which can feel robotic. Some grinders train themselves to act at the same speed every hand so they don’t give off tells. It’s annoying, but it’s not a bot in a live setting.

I have a feeling accusing people of being bots is about to become as prevalent as angry gamers calling everyone who defeated them a cheater.

I used to train against bots in competitive games 25 years ago, why? It keeps your basic skills sharp.

Poker companies talking about creating modes for "single player", as well. Its comin' if you like it or not.
