I've noticed something about myself lately. When I first sit down, I'm usually pretty patient and don't mind folding for a while.

But after playing for a few hours, I sometimes catch myself playing hands I probably wouldn't have touched earlier. Not sure if it's boredom, tiredness, or just wanting to get involved.

I'm curious if other players notice this too. Does your style change during a long session, even when you don't mean it to?

Yeah, this happened to me too. I think it’s mostly because you get bored after playing for a few hours. At the start, I can fold for a long time without any problem, but later I just want to play more hands and be part of the action. Then I sometimes play hands that I would easily fold at the start of the session. I think it happens because you get tired of folding and start looking for more action. After a few hours, your focus is not the same as at the start, so you start making more loose decisions without even noticing it. You just want to play something instead of sitting there folding.

You have to have the discipline to play the same way, even when you're impatient.

I believe it can be a bit of both, tiredness and boredom. Online, you don't really have anyone to talk to or interact with, so you may start looking for some action just to feel more involved. And that's where the danger lies

I think it happens to most players, at least once in their career. 😂 After playing for several hours straight, you can get bored and start to see more hands as playable than you otherwise would have. I know I've been in a situation where I said to myself "Well, I haven't played a hand in a while.." and ended up calling with a hand I would have immediately thrown away in a different context. 😅♠️
