I’ve tested this quite a bit, and for most players (myself included),
shorter, focused sessions perform better than long grinds.
From what I’ve seen:
- The first 60–90 minutes is usually peak performance
- After ~2–3 hours, decision quality starts dropping (even if you don’t feel tired)
- Longer sessions tend to increase autopilot and small mistakes, which add up
The key isn’t just “how long you play,” but
how sharp you are while playing.
A structure that works well for a lot of players:
- 1 to 1.5 hour sessions
- Short breaks (10–20 min)
- Repeat if you still feel focused
Also, tracking results by session length is a great idea. Many players notice their winrate drops significantly in later hours of long sessions.
Long sessions can work, but usually only if:
- You’re highly disciplined
- You actively avoid autopilot
- You take real breaks
Otherwise, shorter sessions with high focus tend to be more profitable long term.
