Do you think we can expect a revolution in poker? Such as it was in the early 2000s.
Will he allowed all over the world?
Why do some countries forbid to play casino?

I think that poker will only be banned more in different countries. At the moment, nothing good is expected.

I highly doubt there will ever be a poker boom again in the united states. Even though they are pushing for legalized sports betting in lots of states, they have not had the same views when it comes to legalizing poker. Until poker is legalized in the U.S. and states share their player pool poker will not return to what it once was. Television is really what started the poker boom and shows like poker after dark kept it growing. Those shows are not coming back to television anytime soon. Although I know poker after dark has returned with poker go only people who already play poker pay to watch that. So no new fans are being brought into the game by flipping channels and saying hey what's this.

With enough advertising I think it can, though it will attract only people who already don't play poker. In the initial boom I guess it wasn't as mainstream so it attracted a massive amount of people. Now that it's established I don't think as big of a boom is ever possible.

The whole initial attraction factor was seeing that your common American person could achieve the American dream by playing a card game. And this was glorified on TV with players that also happened to be great actors.

To create a new boom there would need to be widespread advertising of poker shows + people that actually make poker fun to watch + advertising of online poker rooms in the shows. In my opinion all these guys wearing glasses and hoods who don't say a word make poker boring to watch for your average Joe.

Unfortunately I don't think TV is as mainstream now so how would you get a big enough viewer base? Broadcasters would have no incentive to advertise poker because they might not get enough viewers. There has to be a way to reach a semi-younger crowd reliably.

But I think all this could only work out if poker is legalized again in the U.S.

I think that the casino should be released in all parts of the world, whoever wants to play and has to learn to be in control, nobody puts a gun on the head of the others so they can enter the casino.

It would be nice, but the states put obstacles, blocking online poker sites, at least in my country, and I think that in other Latin American countries the same thing happens.

I feel it will rely on if we can actually play at all. I really would love to play on a good site, instead of these, at least you can play sites.

I think that the poker sites need to look at players concerns. I haven't played much because of all of the too late registrations. Sure have some, but ALL of them?
Leave some dam tourneys "regular" ones.

I have a solution to create a new poker boom.

Gotta get young adults interested. TV is dead, so I think e-sports should take up poker or make some fresh spin/variation of it :D

I do not expect poker boom, but not for political/legal reasons.

1) it is hard to boom already competitive market
2) the AI is coming and coming fast it is. It will be harder and harder to boom anything and most businesses will have to shut down. Poker including.

Poker

I believe that the changes will be. They come with a change of generation. Now in power a lot of older workers, the old school, who do not want to change anything and to live under the new rules. Sooner or later there will be time for a new generation, nothing lasts forever.

I do not think we should expect a revolution, but given the dynamics, it is obvious that poker's popularity will only grow.

hi... I don't think there will be any revolution. How many new card games -and classic poker is ahead... as for the ban on casinos, if everyone plays, it will be a state problem. There are many reasons - first, it really causes a painful addiction, and secondly - where a lot of money appears crime,,... third-there are many people who lost everything and many more reasons .

I think it is already at a very high level! How many people play around the world? Clearly there is much to develop, but I think this is not a revolution, but a logical development and promotion:damnmate:

A boom the same as then no , but a similar in numbers , close enough yes , maybe it has already started :) But to get close to 2000s poker boom numbers , governments need to stop putting obstacles to online poker , the regulations need to be logical and fair , a truthfull attempt to get the taxes and protect customers , not a way to restrain online poker for any reason , such as to support local casino landlords' interests :)

I think it is unlikely. It would involve Asia if it does.

And considering that the current Coronavirus is going to massively impact many Asian (and also Western) economies, I wouldn't hold my breath for it to happen anytime soon.

Esports and poker have some partnerships going and is basically the poker boom equivilent of today. I think if esports would host poker tournaments it could become huge again.

But definitely not anytime soon with the corona situation :(

In terms of numbers I don't think so. With AI beating some of the best players I think that the limits of poker playing will be explored (as one small application of this AI - Pluribus).

I don't think there will be a boom, quite the opposite, I believe online poker will be banned or highly regulated in increasingly more countries in the future.
