Is online poker more profitable than live poker?

Simple arguments in favor of online poker:

1) Higher earnings per hour of the game (including due to a greater number of hands with Your participation)

2) Bonuses from the room

3) Rakeback from the room (and, consequently, more revenue)

It all depends of the player. Personally I feel better playing online and its more profitable for me.

Yes it is. There are a lot more opportunities to play online and its a lot faster to do so. But it's a different kind of environment and not everyone can transition. There are still "reads" but you have to learn to spot them differently.

Because the collection of online winnings can be very difficult, live casino poker has a big advantage in this regard. When it comes to poker, cash is king. What good is having money on paper, or on a screen, if you can't spend it?

Its very difficult to multi table live, you dont have to tip the waitress at your house, and there is no travel time to play online.

Nothing can be the samething that live poker. You can feel the players feelings. Online poker is other game

Love poker gives you more feeling and emotions but I think online poker is more profitable because you can play much more hands for the same time. So your mathematical expectation is bigger.

I play online only when I m in good condition, but in live poker it s not always possible,so online game is more profitable for me.

I think it very well can be as long as you have the bankroll and the skill to play. You are able to more than 1 game at a time, seen many people play as many as 16 at once. The games go much quicker online allowing more games to be played as well.

I have never played live poker and so I can't say how profitable it is or not. of course I want to be somewhere on the world series.

It definitely can be for a great player. Online is much faster and you can play multiple tables at once. Online definitely has the potential to be more profitable.

The answer, of course, is yes! If you can play well. Because you play more tournaments online in the same time. And you earn more

Live Cash Game is weaker than oline.
And live players learn and progress slower, because they see fewer hands.
Often they even dont want to improve, but some online fun players too.
I heard 0.05 / 0.10 online is like 1 dollar / 2 dollar live.
Online games are harder, Stars games are the hardest.
But only online you have the possibility to multitable.
(Okay Stars limited cash games now from 24 down to 4 tables!)
But online theres still enough fish to feed us all 🙂

No way. More drunks play live. And you can see who is drinking. Best knowledge in poker....who is over drinking!

Everything on line is more profitable than live, who does not understand this yet are in the pass.

Haha! Good point. There are tells and then there are tells!!! Drinking is probably highest on the list

I think live poker is much more profitable than online poker. It's a difficult question, but that's my opinion.

It all depends on 2 criteria.

1. How many people register for a tournament?

2. What is the buy-in?

It really does not make that much difference whether you are playing Live or on-line, if the Buy-in and the number of registrations are the same, the prize money would be the same.
The only difference is you can read players better in a live game if you know how to, and you could always use a HUD on-line which you cannot in a live game.
So both have pros and cons, the main thing is can you be read by a better player in a live game? Do you have a tell which can be picked up by someone else?
Too many people are result orientated and are only interested in making money. Why not try playing the game for the love of it. Sure the money is nice but it is not really the only point for playing Poker.
I am sure there are many here in Cardschat that played Monopoly as a child or even a simple game of Snap! You played them because they were fun! Poker is a fun game!

When the fun Stops, STOP!

You can play more hands online, but there are better players than live (for the same buy-in). So, it can depends of how well you can manage to play on more than one table online at the same time.

For me, online poker is more attractive, more practical and more profitable.

Definitely for me that I am not a professional it is more profitable to play online, for many reasons;

1. I am not a professional, this means that I can run into someone who is and since I have not yet mastered my expressions 100%, I am already losing there without having started.

2. Travel expenses, whether in the case of large events or small local events, in the same way you have to travel what represents an expense, food (I prefer to invest and prepare good hamburgers in the comfort of my home while I play), And if you have to pay for a hotel, no way.

3. If they take me out starting with 'x' or 'y' I ask them what I'm going to do, I look at the ceiling nonono.

4. If they eliminate me in a bubble with a hand monster, let's see, let me think how many hours I have been playing, travel expenses, food, with clean pockets and I have not yet arrived at my house, ready I was already daydreaming, because I'm at home playing various tournaments and eating my burgers ah.

5. Really for me playing live tournaments has been a wonderful experience, when I got to do it it was to try something different, but as I know I have weaknesses, even in my case it would not be profitable.

6. Now let's take the case of a professional who is more profitable, falls like everyone else but has a lot of advantage, most have a doctorate in analyzing and reading his opponent live through gestures, expressions, voice timbre and stop. of counting, while online they analyze your game but not your body.

7. Now in terms of experiences I love live tournaments they are the best, but until I consolidate at least as a semi-professional, I will do it sporadically. Cheers
