Everyone remembers that great movie with Matt Damon and Edward Norton—it’s part poker advertisement, part advertisement for problem gambling... the story never reveals whether Matt’s character actually won the wsop and the million-dollar prize, and yes, a sequel would be great. What’s your take on playing outside of your bankroll? Of course, I was emotionally invested in the protagonist's journey and realized he made a terrible mistake at the start of the film—a friend of mine sometimes does the same thing, even though he’s considered a decent player. Also, what conclusions did you draw from the movie?

Your skill level determines how much you can win; your bankroll determines how long you can survive variance.
If you play significantly above your bankroll, variance can eventually wipe you out.
Taking shots can be part of a player's growth, but it should be done in a controlled manner; it should never put your entire bankroll at risk.
Even if a game looks particularly good or soft, that alone should not be enough of a reason to play if the stakes put your bankroll at risk.

You should only play with your own money. Otherwise, you can end up in huge debt, like Romanovskyi did, and now he’s trying to win it back. There’s only one conclusion here: if you start playing on borrowed money, you’re going to run into problems sooner or later.
