Look, I've been on both sides and my opinion has changed over the years. I used to think that anyone who used their time bank on the river without thinking was a jerk. Now, honestly, I do it all the time, but with my own moral code: I never use it to slow roll (wait intentionally to win). If I have the best hand on the river and my opponent has bet, I call or raise in less than 5 seconds. But if I'm in a tough spot, I take my time. I don't care if they think I'm acting. In the end, in online poker, the time bank is a resource like chips. If you get nervous because the other person is thinking, that's your problem, not mine. Where I do draw the line is at tournament tables with recreational opponents; there I try to be more agile so the experience is enjoyable for everyone, because without them, there's no game.
If you need the time to make a difficult decision, I have no problem…if time is being used to survive the bubble or to annoy others who play quickly, I find that just rude.

I deliberately stall in satellites when I am short and the bubble is about to bust.
I do the same, but I find it a waste when people do it in a hand for hand situation as they are just stopping the whole tournament.

If this time bank is given to you , you have the right to use it whenever you want

It can be time bank abuse if you don't really have a decision

I usually only do it near the bubble when I have a short stack, since most tables do this at that point. So not doing it would reduce my chances of cashing

In qualifying tournaments (satellites) I always save my time bank for the bubble, I find it very advantageous , to slow down the orbit when I am short stacked.
The time bank has definitely , helped me qualify for different tournaments , sometimes with 2-3 BBs

If it is there, why not use it? It's legitimate.

The other thing is people usually tank near the bubble. It's understandable. Let's say you have a few big blinds left. It's technically unlikely for you to win the tournament and you're hanging on to dear life hoping you min cash and recuperate your investment. Money matters and I understand that. But I do agree some people tank too much or play to slow and poker just becomes unwatchable or the other players at that table -well, they don't enjoy their experience.

When you're close to the bubble, it's legitimate because you need to think more about your actions.

I know I have pisssed off several dozen players over the years by being a slower player and there's nothing wrong with being a so player if you have a valid reason for it. The problem is there are players who will time out every single hand from the first hand dealt to the end.

When I play there's many times I have the auto fold on. I will not have a hand that I'm interested in playing I want to see what the action is hers there are times I just hit the follow button because the action dictates that I should make the best play and fold. There are very few times it takes more than a couple of seconds for me to make a decision preflop.

It's post slot where I'm more likely to take a longer time to determine what my best play is. If I open raise with pocket 2, it's a pretty easy decision other times I honestly will sit there 8 seconds 10 seconds to make a decision on how I wanna play a hand depending on what the action is what the flop is and everything else. It's the same thing for Turn and river. If you happen to be a thinking player I think it's perfectly fine to use your time 30% of the time I'm almost instantly know what I'm going to do.

The truth of the matter is the problem is it is a very disrespectful thing to time out every single hand every single St. every single everything we've all seen it they will sit there and time every hand until the last second just to fold time after time, These are also the same players who would be three bat jammed all in and sit there and time until the absolute last second and they have pocket aces you know you were going to call there be respectful to the players and the game it was wrong to just time because you feel like it.

As for making the money and people who time as it gets close I get it. I may not like it but at least like an understand there's a reason there and usually these type of players will start playing fast once it's over. But the thing I will say is there's nothing worse than sitting at a table where you have one of these people who are playing so disrespectfully and taking time when you play less hands on line in an hour than you would in a normal casino game. Couple years ago on a ACR I played seventeen hands in the first hour. It was ridiculous and it just ruined the game and it was a CC game. So please think about what you want to do take your time nobody minds but don't take advantage of people and do it to annoy people.

People who drag out a hand, should play at the kitty level.
