I don't understand, why people watch high stakes, instead of watch their field or above, they almost didn't ask for some hands action to be explain. Also players who stream high stakes they know thier pool, Its not same at NL2 with 1k players at Rush and Cash or NL5 with 700players, with 200player pool at NL100 or NL200
Also GGpoker give streamer tag which help to players, also to pool, instead of getting cash drops 10bb you will receive 20bb when there is streamer on cash drops.

Most people who watch poker tend to watch the streamers with the most viewers, since those are the ones that get recommended and are usually playing high stakes. Not everyone watches to improve; most people do it to pass the time and maybe learn something by watching how the streamer plays.

Personally, I like watching Daniel Petersen because he plays a lot of high-stakes poker and follows GTO very closely. That way I can learn while being entertained, although he seems to get bad beat almost every day 🙂.

As for your question, if I were choosing between different streams, I think most people pick based on a combination of the streamer’s personality, skill level, and how entertaining they are. A stream is usually more enjoyable when you feel like you're learning something while also having fun watching it.

That is right, but for example if you are playing Rush and Cash low stakes, there is no streamers at low stakes durring Friday promotion on GGpoker. Which increase x2 cash drops, 10bb to 20bb, 20bb to 40bb and 100bb to 200bb, with helping someone to receive streamer tag, that is also win for you on long run, also for pool.

I really see no benefit or point in watching a high stakes or nearly any streamer other then for pure entertainment. They're playing at a level well above and way to high for you to use in micro stakes or even low stakes MTT's or if play cash even up too 50nl. One needs to adapt and learn to exploit their own player pool and they're aren't playing close or even close to the same thinking level as a high stakes player.

The time I believe watching a streamer would help one is if you find a streamer playing at either your level, the stake level just above his or maybe 2 levels above my current stakes and one was preparing to move up to them stakes. Otherwise in my opinion my time is better spent playing, getting more experience and making money.

Cheers!!!

They watch it because it is on a level yourself will never achieve. You can see out of the box thinking and watching poker on a level you yourself probably won't ever be.
It's the same with any competitive sport really.....

for most people, watching high stakes is pure entertainment, like watching the Champions League instead of a local football match. It’s about seeing elite decision-making and massive pots, even if the strategies don't directly apply to micro-stakes

I dont see anything strange in this. If you are interested in bike racing and perhaps an amateur biker yourself, you are probably also more likely to watch the most famous events like the spring classics or Tour de France rather than some event for amateur youth bikers in Moldovia.

maybe if you have commentator and tell you about decision, but only if you listening music, and watch. And if you help someone to get Streamer tag at GGpoker for example
who stream every day 10hour, for sure you will have benefit on long run in RC2 .
Because when he will be on your table as streamer and there is Cash drop that will double prize

I've been watching a lot of sprasesaces I enjoy watching him, and Bencb on RYE. I also like to watch a bit of Lex, just haven't watched him lately. Educational though I like BlackRain79Poker, Jonathan Little, Hungry Horse and obviously RYE. My mum gets fed up when I'm watching so I don't get to do it much, as I've always got to sort the TV for her as she can't use it 😂

Unless you still think suited connectors are businessmen stuck together with glue I recommend ditching BR79. You already have much better content in your feeds.

I have frequently watched Lex Veldhuis streaming over the years because I love his style of play and feel like I learn something new every single time I watch him, I really admire the guy.

You'll learn more (if you really listen) from the best in the long run than you will from someone who's slightly better than you in the short term. Compare to any other sport/profession. You look to the people at the top and take as much from them as they're willing to give. That's how you level up fast. They're still playing the same game just at a higher level, so the whole "nothing like my stakes" isn't actually true.

Watching some (popular) dude playing (very) high stakes can only be useful for entertainment purposes - pretty sure most of them cant be even decent enough to be poker commentators therefore for learning purposes its never wrong to stick to lower stakes if you know someone who is good enough to be poker commentator and/or can give much better analysis etc than any of these creatures playing high stakes would ever do ...

This is true, but I dont think, poker streams are a particularly good way of learning though. Most commentators talk about non poker related things 90% of the time, so there is a lot of distraction, and they move from table to table all the time making it difficult to keep track on, when they are in early game, near the bubble etc.

So I think, poker streams should be viewed mostly as entertainment. If you want to get better at poker, there are much more effective ways of studying like watching dedicated training videos, where good players explain different concepts. I would also rather watch for instance a EPT final table stream, where we see all the hands at a slow pace and might pick up on spots, where good players do something different from, what we would do.

This part I agree with. Regardless of stakes its still poker, and its still valuable to learn, why the best players might for instance limp the BTN in certain situations. And then we can always decide, if the factors, that made them do this, are present in our current game or not.

I follow a couple of mid-stakes online MTT players, one of them is constantly sharing his thought process in all hands played and is open to take questions from chat. He's been streaming for years but his stream has never taken off in popularity. His focus is playing MTT's, not building up the stream.
The other is also an MTT mid-stakes player who plays high volume 20+ tables, but is still open to questions, but does far less in game sharing of his thoughts but does break down hands while playing.
I don't particularly enjoy listening to a streamer telling us how unlucky they are or how they don't tilt while obviously tilting.

When you see a high-stakes streamer's bad beats, it becomes easier for you to survive your own bad beats because you realize you're not alone in this and that high-stakes players are also being outbid.
