What is a good pc config to play poker?

Hi, guys!
I need to upgrade my PC and I want to know what is a good configuration to play on all poker sites.
What are your configurations? Do you like them?

These things are not that heavy, as long as your GPU has decent multi monitor support you're good, but even the low ones do these days.

So basically I don't think you need special hardware for poker, but I'm not a heavy player these days so I could be wrong.

Poker rooms, even when used together, tend to require little from a machine. My GPU (onboard) is barely in use with some of the main rooms open.
The exceptions are ggpoker (a little heavier gradually) and wpt global (which, by the way, looks like it's mining on your PC).
You can run it at minimum resolutions and without animations, which will require even less of a setup.

I run a configuration with a Ryzen 4600G.
16gb RAM
Without a dedicated video card.
I use two monitors without any problems.

Parts here in Brazil have become expensive again, so it all depends on the available budget and your region...

Cities like Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo have computer centers with slightly better prices than in the big stores.
Other than that, everything is in the same price range.

I am thinking of buying a Ryzen 5600GT and a 1080p 24" 100Hz monitor. It will cost around R$3k.
Regarding GGPoker and WPT Global, what percentage of CPU usage do they require on a 4600G?
Can it manage to open 4 sites at the same time: 888, Party, GG, and WPT?

The 5600GT is currently the best value for money for us.
You can't go wrong with it.

It also shouldn't require a very robust motherboard.
I believe the A320 or A520 will do the trick.
But the B450 (Gigabyte and ASRock) are also at a good price, so I would go with either one.

There are Samsung monitors on sale for R$550.00 for the 22" and R$650 for the 24" (both 75Hz) on their own website.

I use a 2k 1440p, which helps me a bit more with the number of tables, but unfortunately my second monitor is having problems and only works when it wants to! haha

Yes... Sometimes I end up running 6 different platforms in addition to many web pages.
Usually my problem is with the connection... The PC itself doesn't usually crash!

I agree that poker doesn't take a lot of computing power but these days the sites are much bigger resource hogs than they were in the past.
WPTglobal was absolutely horrendous but has gotten much better after their recent updates.

Something to keep in mind... when asking on Cardschat you might be getting a response from someone who only plays 2 or 3 tables maximum and on only one site at a time. (or maybe 3 or 4 tables across 2 sites).

I'm in the process of putting a new computer together myself (actually purchased the parts last June and STILL have not assembled it) and went complete overkill with hopes of never having to buy another one in my life.

My current computer is getting old but it has zero LAG issues while playing a day of MTT's on it. And that would typically be something like 14 tables while on 3 sites (ie. GG, Stars, Partypoker).
Along with viewing 1 or 2 streamers on Twitch.
Listening to music from YouTube
Having Facebook/messenger open.
browsing internet
Running PokerTracker4

Adding WPTglobal to this list above bounces my CPU to 100%
As I transition from my usual (4-tabling ZOOM style cash games) over to MTT's, I need more power. I want to be able to run 5 sites with up to 20 tables running. (also want to be able to Stream on Twitch as this is something I'm considering doing in the future)

My current 'ancient' setup is:
i5-4670
16GB Ram (DDR3 1600)
GPU MSI GeForce GTX1060 6GB
1 TB Samsung SSD

3 monitors, 2x 24" Dell Ultrasharp; 1x BenQ 32" curved monitor.

HDD 480GB

And this simple PC is more than enough for me to play poker and generally for full-fledged everyday use.

i guess i need to invest in a nice new big monitor !

I bought the Ryzen 5600GT! A 24-inch 100Hz monitor and a 512GB M.2.
I have never seen such a fast PC in front of me. Hahaha...
My old one is a 2011 i3 notebook, so it was a shock when I turned it on and tried to get up to make a coffee as usual with the i3.
I barely got up and everything was already open. Amazing!
I'm installing and configuring everything, and I think I'll be back to the grind tomorrow or Saturday.

A good and inexpensive option for playing poker.

Processor and RAM. SSD as well.

GPU: Basic (integrated works)

I don't think you need a specific configuration to play poker in any room you want, unlike common PC games, poker games don't consume much RAM, nor do they require the necessary specifications to play them.

Really don't need much to play poker.

Think about the fact that the requirements of rooms and trackers to your PC are constantly growing. What is required today, tomorrow may no longer be suitable. Consider it.

I know! That's a really cool feeling.

I play on an old laptop that’s over 10 years old and I can still play on all the main platforms.

Depends on the room. In example to handle WPT Global client you need to have at least a NASA supercomputer. But in general poker rooms do not require much hardware-wise.

anything that can switch on and connnect to the internet should be good enough

I think an average PC configuration will be more than enough

You can play on a phone, so most computers should be fine.
However, if you want to play on multiple tables, I recommend using a larger monitor.

If you have the money, get a gaming one. It will work for more than one year and will last a long time.

You only need a PC with good RAM, 8GB or more, to open multi windows.
